Politics is about getting elected, and culture wars are much more galvanizing than budget minutia. Another reason I support Ranked Choice Voting and less involvement with two parties. We already have that. It's called Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Pray around the Flag Pole. It's done weekly in the morning before school. Nobody is passing laws to stop that.

In fact there is a whole unit devoted to learning about different religions of the world including Christianity in the curriculum.
There are NO Gay Classes at my school or any I know of.

Less than half the prison population is in for violent crimes. If we weren’t spending countless man hours on the drug war and filling the prisons we already have with nonviolent offenders cops would have all those hours to pursue violent criminals and more than enough space to put them.

It does seem that violent offenders are released early sometime due to overcrowding issues. I agree, get the drug offenders into treatment and maybe home incarceration for the non violent offenders. Save the prisons for the truly violent.

A state has every right to pass laws telling teachers what they can or can not teach in a public school. The state must agree to and approve what is taught. Imagine a school system without such standards.

The overwhelming majority in Florida want their K-3rd grade kids to be educated in the basic reading, writing and arithmetic. There is no place for teaching or even discussing transgender, homosexuality or lesbians to 5,6,7 or 8 year old kids. If a kid has a problem with their two mommies or daddies, the school will provide counseling for that. An elementary school teacher has no business demonstrating to children how to masturbate as 5.6.7 year olds. Nature will take care of that.

You know if I am a teacher and Sammy second grader comes up to me and asks me about the birds and the bees, it's not my responsibility to tell him about it. I am there to teach math, English, history, or you name it, but birds and the bees are not part of curriculum at that age. I would gladly tell Sammy to speak to his parents about that subject, and in no way is that by default telling him his parents are terrible people.

Get rid of government school. However, too many "parents" do not want to lose their free baby sitter.

Parents of all backgrounds should take responsibility for their own actions and raise their children...not pass it off to a sitter.

Note ... i did not fing say all parents. Some ppl value their children. I believe ... if they truly valued their children, they would not leave it up to our "efficient" govt to raise THEIR kids.

I seem to recall reading an article back in '16 or '17 that that plane had a complete overhaul including the engines (top of the line Rolls I believe). Maybe he sold it and/or just doesn't use it very often now...but odd to have engine failure on an engine that is not very old.

I agree on one point.... the government isnt the answer but it's the one interjecting itself into a situation that is such a miniscule daily issue it's ridiculous.
