MLB Draft Round 16 Last Round

Winningest pitcher of live ball and post-war eras . . . Won his only CY Young in '57 but would have won at least two, maybe four, more if the award had been created before 1956 . . . 382 complete games . . . debut briefly in 1942 at age 21 . . . served 3 years WWII, US Army . . . fought in battle of the bulge . . . only MLB player to receive both purple heart and bronze star . . . the story of this man is incredible . . . taking LHP Warren Spahn

I was hoping for two pitchers for about the last 10 picks wanting at least one. They were Warren Spahn and Lefty Grove. :(

I realize this is a vote and games won't actually be played, so my post will have little to no bearing on anything. Bill James (father of sabermetrics) made a list of the top pitching staff of each decade starting in the 20's through the 90's. He suggested the 90's Braves was the best staff of all time, but he was choosing a staff from a specific year each decade. The 95 WS winning Braves was not the year he chose as their strongest staff. Out of all those decades, only one chosen staff won the WS. I'm a pitching and defense guy, but that is something to think about if they were actually able to play the games.

It’s hard in baseball to have both superb starting pitching and offense at the same time. In this draft you will realistically be able to achieve both

No problem. I will wait until 6. I have both picks so he will be right back on the clock, lol
