MLB Draft Round 16 Last Round

I came close... Was afraid I’d be punished if I didn’t get a top shelf pitcher, though
as a fan of the fightin’ phils, i love your pick also. was hoping people would have thought him just good over a long hall. and he was, but in stages he was also the best pitcher in baseball imo. was hoping for him or seaver or possibly one other guy for my 4th pick. oh well they deserve to be off the board by now.

I'll take Mr. Thirdperson himself, Ricky Henderson. @jcrow10 is OTC
another player probably on everyone’s shortlist except whoever selected ichiro. best leadoff of all time. career .400 obp and the sb champ. he’s a manufactured run waiting to happen. pretty nice to have in a close game.

@jcrow10 you are up... hoping I get to pick tonight lol going to need a strong run of picks.
that’s the great thing about a baseball draft. the pool is so large every team will be jacked. dynamic and interchangeability and all sorts of interesting topics will emerge.

Thanks now I'm going to spend 30 minutes researching an 18 time allstar that I haven't heard of.
A "5.1 home runs:all star" ratio repeated 18 times. Nobody is breaking that record. You heard it hear first.

Think I’m getting a big steal here. Undisputed best player of his generation, already 3 MVPs at just 28. Who knows how many he will get? Certainly may end up in the GOAT discussion someday.

Mike Trout
Been reading some about MT since your post. Admit that I'm not an Angels fan and for that reason have maybe never researched Trout's career until now. Didn't realize how much I would end up agreeing with your prediction. He's ridiculous. Clearly, no doubt, the best player in the game today.

Definitely has a chance at the GOAT... an unreal talent. The fact he plays for the Angels has really diminished his legacy. Put him really on any East coast team and he may be a star among superstars.

Well, since Im already in a short stop drafting mood and could use another bat...

...the juice is loose baby. Your least favorite ESPN Sunday Night Baseball commentator and mine, but quite possibly the greatest shortstop ever.....

A-Rod....Alex Rodriquez!

Yeah MT is the classic 5 tool player. Really just a baseball machine

Baseball
has GOT to learn how to market its stars. If they want fan interest again, theyve got to get back to owning eyeballs. End the idiot blackout rules for MLB.TV. More flash and splash. Make it more appealing. People havent stopped loving going to baseball games with their dad, or having beers amd dogs with their friends. Baseball has just been content to take PR hit after PR hit from 94 on and do absolutely zilch to fix its image. I just dont get it

I love baseball but they lost me in the mid 90's with the second strike. I'd love to really be able to love it again. There is too much money, just like the NFL, NBA. It ruins everything.

God...this so much. The fact that any baseball fan hasn't heard of Mike Trout is mindblowing to me. He's going to be remembered forever. Basically the perfect outfielder.

Baseball has so many problems to fix. It's a lot closer to the NHL these days than the NFL or NBA.

I pay no attention to current baseball and I know who Mike Trout is.

Only 6 pitchers have won the Cy Young award in both leagues & I now have two of them. He’s won 3 total so far & has finished 2nd once. He’s averaged 11 K & 2 BB/9 IP over his career & has had 5 seasons with a WHIP below 1. Give me Max Scherzer.

See....I'm 36 so the 94 strike to me was simply the season where the Reds got royally screwed out of a potential run to the World Series. I know the Expos were probably gonna do it.....which brings about the hypothetical about whether they would have even left Montreal if they had won that World Series? The whole butterfly effect thing as it were.

I guess I just don't understand why people get so pissed about 94. This b.s. going on now pisses me off. The owners are rich. The players are rich. Shut up and play. But I love the sport...what do I care. As long as they play. And if it doesn't happen this year, it'll happen next year.

The NBA lost me in the 90s because of the beginning of OAD ie Garnett, Brown, Kobe, etc. Iso ball was awful to watch. The new uniform designs were effing awful. And all of the high draft picks with European guys no one knew. I understand why the younger generation loves it now, they weren't around in the 80s and 90s when the NBA was amazing. They don't know any better. What I don't get is the older generation that enjoys it. Older folks should know better. It's just not remotely entertaining to me to watch 6'10 guys jack up 3s. Its trickled down to college and has severely dampened my interest in Kentucky basketball to be perfectly honest. Watching our guards crash the boards when a big guy jacks up a 3...what the hell are we doing?!?!?

/drunk rant. I'm up prepping meat for the smoker tomorrow. Gotta put that work in for success boys.

Give me the greatest closer in the game- who in the postseason, under the greatest pressure was nearly perfect. He allowed 1 home run in 141 innings while posting a 0.70 ERA

In his 19 seasons he had over 652 saves which is the best in MLB history

Mariano Rivera

@csrupp youre up.

Hey Lukas, really quick, I wanted to apologize for upsetting you in that other thread. My statement was meant broadly and I had no intention of marginalizing the horrible costs some families have suffered. I hope that helps. Now back to baseball.

Must have been the other Lukas guy- no hard feelings here.

I was about an inch from taking him with one of my last 2 picks. I was hoping people would keep going just for starters for the next 2 rounds [laughing]

Get this; In 141 innings pitched in the postseason He has a 0.70 ERA. That is just unholy.
