MLB Draft Round 16 Last Round

Ok, I pick Harry Heilman. @jcrow10 is up.

Great pick! I couldn’t find room for him bc I kinda screwed myself early & needed to get a few LH bats in my lineup. I wanted to draft him badly, though. I was down to him & Paul Waner bc they both played OF/1B & both were GREAT hitters. I’m gonna go thru it & make a team of undrafted players when we’re done just to see how good it’ll look. It will probably be good enough to contend if it was in this field. There’s still a ton of players I wish I could draft. Lol

I did that after you guys did the UK basketball draft. Put together a team that wasn’t good enough to win the tournament but I think they might’ve won a game or two.

Man, I’m torn on my last pick. I’ve got 2 guys in mind. One basically opens up my entire infield and allows people to switch around. The other is a backup at one position that DOESN’T open things up that much but he was a real speed demon, which is the one thing I don’t have, (though I do have a few guys that were very good baserunners)

Hopefully one will get taken and it’ll be moot but I doubt it

@KopiKat That's true. I just have the one who has over 1500 more hits than yours and is the winningest player in the history of baseball and also played 6 positions, 5 of them at an all star level. ;). Also regarding the hall of fame, while your statement is true, there will be no gambling investigations during this playoff :p

Who did you end up with? I know there were still a bunch of great players left.
I don't remember all of them but it was something like Dicky Beal, Roger Harden, Derrick Hord, Bob Guyette, Rob Lock, Eric Manuel, Jay Shidler, Lavon Williams, Freddie Cowans, James Blackmon Can't remember the others, maybe Gimel Martinez, Truman Claytor. The biggest problem was finding quality big men. Still got a 1000 point scorer in Hord and two tremendous and often overlooked point guards from the 80s.

I couldn’t believe Hord or Manuel wasn’t taken. I think they would be good together on the wing. That’s a solid team, especially considering we only went back to 75 & drafted 14 teams.

Having 1500 fewer hits than Pete Rose is still a shit load of hits. I love Pete Rose, btw. I can't fault people for doing their jobs, looking for the truth, peeling away the layers, going after the stories within the stories, and so on. But for those people I have observed along the way, who achieved some sense of satisfaction, or somehow delighted themselves as Pete became harmed (deservedly or not), I just straight-up hate those people.

@UKNorse , you said we're using our picks top 5 years if I remember correctly, right? That would mean a straight 5 year window and not cherry picking, right?

dj has me covered on the right side of the infield coming off the bench, hitting for average. i need a gold glover to lock up the left side while bringing some power.

give me matt williams

I don't recall saying anything about a 5 year stretch. This is only a 7 game series which implies 1 year.

I think we are just assuming all of these players are in their prime.
