MLB Draft Round 16 Last Round

I don't take it personal. Not one iota. Told you square and straight I have no cross to carry for Jeter, his defense or otherwise. I challenged the data no different than you challenged the description. Seemed fair. Also implied I was happy to get on board with nit-picking, wrote nothing to shoo it away. I think maybe one of us could have taken something personally but it wasn't me and still isn't.

Jeter does have 5 gold gloves. It could be difficult to frame a below average argument from there. But then again what it the value of a gold glove. Hernandez has 11 of them (or is it 12?), an MVP, 2 world series and he is not in the HOF.

Jeter lacked one vote from a perfect first ballot.

Hey it is what it is. You are correct I attacked the verbiage which I feel like is fair. I got nothing against Jeter as a player except when people try and argue he was better than Larkin. Although that is is another debate in its self lol

Nice pick.

Jeter got preference cuz he was a Yankee and stayed healthy a lot more. Overall I take Larkin every day.

Was just giving you an explanation as to why I wasn’t able to make my picks. When are you gonna let that last NBA draft go anyway? If anyone sounds like a “diva” here, it would be you. With all of your constant whining about said NBA draft. You sound worse than my daughter used to when she lost a family board game. Give it a rest already. It’s really not that serious. TIA. :)

Just having some fun. I thought you were playing along.

That really does bother me brother. I wouldn't have continued to pick had I known it was bothering you. Life has enough tension, I'll throttle back but let's get back to having a little fun here. Alright?

Ok, it’s been 4 hours since @hotelblue was up. I’ll be honest, I cannot believe this guy is still left. A former MVP with over 500 home runs, 5 World Series wins and 2 World Series MVP’s. I had to double, and then triple check that he had not been picked. They didn’t call him Mr. October for nothing. Give me Reggie Jackson.
I was oh so close to taking him on my last two. I was 98% sold on going with 2 pitchers at the 5-6 turn but there were 2 players I would’ve taken instead. Now there is only one. Fantastic pick.

He was one of the guys on my list, but not the top.

I’ll take a pitcher that if someone put up the same numbers today would have been taken in the first 2 rounds. He had a 5 year stretch where he won 127 games and had an AVERAGE era of 1.44

And then I’ll take the best non-juicing power hitting shortstop of all time who also happens to be a gold glove winner

Mordecai “three finger” Brown and Ernie Banks.

@drcats2013 you may proceed

Ok, so I’ve got the heart of my order set, now I need my two spot filled. This will be 4/4 picks in my lineup that have won an MVP. 14 all star games and 13 gold gloves. He’s not only one of the best hitters at his position, but one of the best on defense as well. Give me another one of my childhood favorites, Ivan Pudge Rodriguez

@hotelblue wake up from your slumber, you’re up for 2

How long does @hotelblue have ? I think if one of us misses a pick, we should maybe have 1 or 2 hours the next pick? Can’t spend all day giving someone 4 hours twice I think.

Spend your time making pick rather than responding to me. Everyone waiting on your pick right now, just want to keep things moving so this draft doesn’t take 2 weeks.

I’m including myself in that so it’s not personal. We are all developing the rules to these drafts as we go

213 wins and 154 saves. easily the braves’ most clutch post season pitcher, where for his career he was 15-4 with 2.67 ERA. literally the perfect guy to handle long or short relief, starting a game 3, or just as a set up guy.

his game 7 performance against the twins stands out to me as one of the all-time clutch performances. consistent mid to high 90’s, and for it’s use one of the trickiest and most accurate low sliders in baseball history.

give me john smoltz

Nice pick. About damn time, too [winking]

As I said noting personal, just a simple belief with 14 people we can’t spend 8 hours on 1 person in a day. Wasn’t a belief that he was going to miss his next pick. Apologies @hotelblue ☮️
check the longest distances between picks and see that i was online most of that time. i live on west coast and do my work at night. even then i’m on all the time. it takes only one person to mess up a day. but we’re getting picks in still. if you can’t handle one person slowing it down you will be sorely disappointed in any draft.

You are correct. Wasn’t aware draft had started so different in that regard. Just gave @hotelblue apology. Some of us in here just participated in nba draft where one person took 6 hours every pick for 4 days straight, so my perspective just different than those who weren’t in that.

Hahaha fair, I deserve it, but so does Barry bonds team
barry took what his trainer gave him yeah. and he’s an a hole off the field apparently and hates the media. but he doesn’t have that famous bull crap tone and posture in front of the american public and its investigators all while busting the lining of his shirt.
