D-League

Happy Friday folks. Misty, muggy and warm in the east. Sweaty weather for running.

Working from home today, and looking forward to the weekend to begin. No big plans. Next week I'm heading to Kentucky and my wife has booked us a trip to Niagara Falls later in October. We'll be doing some real traveling next year, as I get closer to retirement. But she's always wanted to see the falls for some reason.

Nothing much to report. It's been a grinding work week, so that has limited much else going on. Looking forward to the football weekend. Alabama-Georgia should be a classic and in the "At least somebody will lose" category we've got Little Brother playing Notre Dame. I'm so angry at the Bengals I'm actually hoping Andy Dalton shreds their defense and the whole collection of pouting prima donnas get stuck in the airport for three days after that.

You all have a good day.

Helene got here. We have exactly 2.00" of rain and some really good gusts of wind. It is 70.5°F and that is supposed to be the high with it going down all day to a low of 50°F by midnight.

@storm1507 the summers of 1964 and 1965 I worked on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Pretty country. I fell in love with a long legged blonde who lived in Sparta, NC.

We love the area too.

I won't tell you what I was doing in the summer of 64, but I'll turn 60 tomorrow.

Man I am alone today, tonight, and tomorrow for most of the day. My Darling is on a retreat with her friends. She needed it. I thought I did too BUT, each of my daughters brought me food at different times so I ate too much. Only had room for one Yuengling so, I'm sober. (I rarely drink more than one anyway but thought I'd down a few.) Was going to watch a John Wayne movie but that never materialized.

Heading to bed in a few minutes. May God Bless your rest this evening.... Take Care D-League...

Up and atom drinking coffee and reading some scriptures before getting ready for the trek to Ardmore. But before I go...

IT'S GAME DAYEEAYEEAYEEAY!

@warrior-cat: Good luck and safe travels.

Wishing y'all a fine Saturday.

3-course meal on the boat during voyage from Lerwick to Aberdeen. Delicious.

Good morning folks. Back from a long run, and a leisurely hike in time to root on the Cats. I got a real good feeling about this game. But despite that kiss of death I'm going to watch anyway.

Going out for a nice steak dinner at a favorite restaurant tonight, something my wife and I really enjoy. So, along with the Cats' win, it should be a terrific day.

Go Cats!

Evening D, if you like grapes, go to Kroger and get some Moon Drop grapes, sweetest grapes I've ever had, kinda pricey, but great!! We need your prayers again, I told y'all we were great grandparents, both are still in the hospital, our great granddaughter wad moved out of PICU today, but will still be in there for couple more weeks! Our granddaughter had to have spine surgery this morning because she developed an abscess where she got an epidural! They said they got just about all of it, but please pray for her! Thanks D!!!

Morning Legionnaires!

60° this morning with a high of 90° expected.

Missed the game yesterday and did not know we had won until I received a text from a friend while I was still at the ballpark in Ardmore OK. Great game, I have 2 games in our league today at 1 and 3 so, maybe the Bengals will win if I am not watching. Made the drive home more enjoyable as we lost all 3 games yesterday in a 3-game guaranteed tournament. I played the worst set of games I think I ever played in my life yesterday. Was not my normal team, I was invited by another team to join. To be fair though, that team sucked. It was a mishmash of players that about half had never played together before this tournament.

One side note, there was a play at the plate that I covered in the first game where a woman (late 20's early 30's) about 5'7" 150/160lbs or so was barreling down on the plate. The throw home was low, so I went down to scoop it when she just put her knee into my left chest/shoulder area (collisions normally not allowed). Rocked me back a little as she tumbled across the plate grabbing her knee and rolling around on the ground. I went back to see if she was all right, but she just blew me off and hobbled away to the dugout angry. Found out later that her and her husband do that kind of stuff in the league they play in to get interference calls. I guess she figured the "old man" (a reference to me from their dugout earlier in the game) was going to be an easy target. At 5'9" and 200lbs or so she found out about the strength of old men (heh heh heh). She did not play the rest of that game and did not play in their next game I watched.

Sorry for the long post folks, a lot to say.

Enjoy the day and God Bless.
