I turned off the TV when KU got the lead back... I knew (thought) we wouldn't win. And, if we did... I would rather rewatch the end today than watch them lose and be upset.

When he was at Memphis, he was ahead 9 points in the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game with 2:12 remaining in the game and LOST!!!! The most important game in his career and he wasn’t good enough to close it out. Same thing with the John Wall team and the 38-1 team. He’s a terrible basketball x’s and o’s coach. Bottom frickin’ line. Great recruiter though!!!

I know it’s only been 3 regular season games but they are giving off Boston/Clarke vibes. This team won’t be special if those two guys aren’t the real deal.

The unwritten rule of sitting guys with 2 fouls the rest of the first half has got to change. Reed was playing the best he has all season when he got a cheap second foul and then he is on the bench the next 13:10 of game time. Thats coaching malpractice.

Similarly, Dillingham picks up his 4th with 10:03 left in the game and doesn't come back until there is 4:03 remaining. This after coming in at the 10:53 mark after being benched 4 minutes, only to get pulled 50 seconds later. That is way too conservative. I know he came back in and gave up the threes at the end and chucked up a bad shot, but I really do think him being iced on the bench has a lot to do with that.

For a loss by 5 points to #1 Kansas without three of our bigs.

I am proud of the effort this team gave tonight and almost pulled out the Win. This does bode well for the rest of the season and I look foward to watching this team continue to grow.

Nothing alarming here. Gotta love that 14 to 5 A/TO ratio with three freshmen point guards.

When did continuation become a thing in the NCAA? Twice tonight Kansas has gotten continuation

-Mitchell 39 minutes…made sense with no big
-Reeves 34 minutes….not going to not pick but I think keep him 32 and under is wiser move
-Adou 31 minutes…again makes sense wjtb no size
- Edwards 29 minutes…Cal 5* special. Easy to see he needed not near that much clock
- Wagner 25 minutes …another Cal special. After Dilly and Reed first half …why DJ starts second half and maintains minutes…patented Cal favorite that he’s done for years
- Reed and Dillly 16 minutes a piece …..plain dumb Each of these guys along with Adou sparked Ky to big first half lead. They both should have been at 25 minutes a piece and shave it from Edwards, Reeves snd DJ

Cal sitting Reed with two fouls in first half is more of Cal dumb coaching that we’ve seen from day one. Reed finished with 3 fouls…so it usually doesn’t matter but he does it regardless

But I’m proud of how they played. Went hard all night. They were clearly gassed at the end of the game. Wish we had gotten the W but there is so much to build off here. Get your bigs back and you have a title contender on your hands.

Bench Wagner and Edwards though. Especially Edwards. Hell it wouldn’t hurt my feelings to leave him on the bench.

OTOH, Spencer Rattler has been EXCELLENT when he hasn't been playing on the road. Serious test from that passing game.

OTOH, South Carolina has been pretty much the same mediocre team all season long. Not many swings in performance for good or bad. Pretty predictable product week by week.

But through 3 games, we have more Steals than TOs. And not just 1 or 2 more, 76% more steals than TOs (30 to 17), ratio of 1.76.

Since 2000 (as far back as my personal stats go), we've had only 12 players with a Steal:TO ratio => 1.0. The highest Team ratio over that period of time was Tubby's last good team (2005) with a ratio of 0.71.
