I think the best option at this point is to bring in a one year bridge QB(if Leary leaves) and let Cutter learn behind said QB for a year before taking over. If Cutter doesn't work out you have Stone. Just my personal take.

I hope they give him enough time to turn UF into Nebraska. Sure would be nice having one less SEC headache.

An embarrassing night to be honest.

My biggest concern at this point, beyond Stoops and UK having to clean up this mess, would be if Stoops and his agent are still open to jobs this cycle. I was ok with him leaving, and am ok with him staying, but I won’t be ok if he takes another job here in a few weeks. The timing of last night would have put us in about as good of a spot as you can hope for to hire a good candidate, retain players and hit the portal.

Everyone is noting the “right now” comment, but I really hope MB got his commitment that he’s back on board for another season at least. It’s reported he was looking for an exit these last few weeks and I’m not sure a revolt from A&M fans did anything to change his mind in that regard.

The players are saying he is gone.

Some of you are deeply unserious. You spent hours saying that all of the reporting was wrong or nothing more than a smokescreen. Then it becomes clear that he was a candidate and probably even accepted the job and now you're mad that it fell through and he's coming back. You scoff at the fact any school would want him, then get pissed when they do and he listens. It's hilarious and sad.

…. if he leaves, which is his right to do, he shouldn’t be leaving with a feeling of being under appreciated, he should leave with a feeling of gratefulness that UK hired him, gave him everything he wanted and needed to succeed, paid he and his staff extremely well, and kept him here as coach when things weren’t looking good ….

… so, no, there shouldn‘t even be a hint of feeling under appreciated….rather it should be all about Stoops being grateful that UK helped make this kind of success possible for Stoops.

This was a Greg Schiano 2.0 moment. I am not sure what Texas A&M wants. I guess they believe they can get Ryan Day, Dabo (who hates NIL and transfers), and/or Kirby Smart (blank check offer). They have interviewed nothing but coaches below Stoops level except for Utah HC who could interview soon. Texas A&M is going to regret not having Stoops and the best recruiter in college football aka Coach Marrow.

I don’t know what Texas A&M wants but the obvious push back made Stoops rethink everything and decide to stay. I think he realized how good he has it here.

I don’t think the season was a full wash. It was just how this team went about it in the games against Missouri, Tennessee, and South Carolina. But that has to change to move forward.

Glad Stoops is staying but we all know Sumrall is the move when he is gone.

Let's get ready for another 7-6 season next year. You can't beat Tenn, but who cares. You have Miami of Ohio's number along with Ball St.

All you die hard Football only guys have to know that losing Stoops sets this program back at least a decade. Plus with the CFP expanding from 4 to a dozen teams UK could very well have a shot if not next yr in a few yrs to make it!

Maybe, just maybe this is some sort of miracle from on high that helps get UK its 1st National title in football!!!

I thought I’d post that since there’s an agenda here to make it look like he hates KY and wants out. There really are some pot stirring Karen’s that post around here. He’s also clearly trying to force a better NIL environment with his other comments.

Isn't this ironic? Instead of not being appreciated by the athletic administration like Bear Bryant, Stoops will head to A&M because of our short sighted fan base. You Dolts that thought Carrington Valentine was a horrible CB (now starting in the NFL) and that just anybody could do what Stoops did at UK are about to get educated. You know who you are. You'll be the same ones second guessing every single thing for the next 2 coaches over 4 years. 🖕🏻But you won't learn anything. Stoops will leave us far better than he found us. And far better than most of you whiny bastards deserve. I have zero trust in Mitch to make a good hire. So hopefully he listens to others.
