I've heard that Calipari was under the impression that Z was allowed to play in exhibition games and had actually been told that he was able to.

Apparently he did hold him out of the blue/white game because he wanted to be convinced he was ready.

Then Calipari was informed after the fact, recently, that he would not be eligible pending the NCAA's ruling.

The wording of the press release was interesting - very clearly coming from UK Athletics rather than the basketball program. It's a good thing they had this realization before the exhibition game because it could have run into an NCAA issue.

Does make me wonder some about the communication between the basketball program and athletic department.

Fast forward 1 hour and suddenly we’re back and it’s Stoops staying..

I actually wasn’t even mad at the news. Felt like it was the easiest breakup ever. Both sides could mutually split clean. Was actually happy to see Stoops get a shot at a big bag and a chance to win Nattys with all the resources. Now if he stays it’s like we’re already over him from the way it’s gone down. Like he’s only here because TAMU fans bucked out at the news.
