If stoops goes!

I would rather hire a top DC, OC with recruiting connections, then a Brown,or Sumrall. Coen is intriguing due to the fact he could possibly keep a big portion of the roster.

But IMO a top DC,OC will have a lot of connections, and might be able to buy a few!

Coach prime would be interesting as well,he would probably get a lot of outside NIL money ECT!

Just Stop!

If Mark Stoops is indeed gone, one can expect all of his staff is going with him. That being said, stop spouting off names of mediocre (Neal Brown) and unproven ( Jon Sumrall, Coen) coaches. It's like the loser mentality won't ever go away!!

This program can pay a real damn proven coach to come in and continue to build the program. It has alot going for it with all the facility upgrades and willingness to pay big money. You shoot for some proven guys and at least talk to them before bringing in assistants and g5 coaches. Although the stoops regime became stale and probably time for a change , this program is on a whole other level due to their accomplishments. Gotta go for the best available and work your way down.

Questions and Concerns

The biggest question is who replaces CMS, but there are other questions/concerns that I have that maybe JRow would have some thoughts on.

1. Some of the position coaches need to leave, but what about Coen and Big Dawg? Do they follow Stoops or do they stay at UK. May depend on who the hire is, and does he want his people?
2. How does this affect recruiting?
3. How does this affect the portal, those leaving and those we thought were coming?
4. How does this affect NIL? It wasn't great with Stoops. One of the reasons he is probably leaving. Does it get worse?
5. Continuity for a bowl game and into spring practice.

Maybe JRow has answers, maybe not. Please give your opinion. Interesting few weeks ahead, that's for sure.

Stoops Long Haul? Not so fast...

<quote>My neighbor sister is married to a stoops in Youngstown. He was over at their house two weekends ago playing cornhole with us. Said stoops is not staying to much longer. Said he doesn’t know where but it’s in the family he isn’t staying to much longer. Take it for what it’s worth but with the drop off this year. Makes you think.</quote>

@Born and raised Big Blue posted in the game thread last Saturday that he's got sources saying that Stoops isn't hear long term. It got lost in the noise but for me, it caught my attention. I actually believed up until this point that Stoops believed he could accomplish what he desires at UK but being someone who recently with through a lot of personal issues (e.g. Divorce) I can say that it actually makes more sense these days.

I realize this is a "my <blank> knows the mailman who knows another" type statement but it is what it is... I don't say that Born is wrong at all, he knows what he knows...but I'm curious what those like @JRowland and @Jeff Drummond and others are hearing in the tea leaves (if anything) about Stoops having the desire to scratch an itch somewhere else.

Just thought I'd toss it out there - I'm not saying he's leaving, I just want folks opinions on whether it is in the realm of possibility of happening saying in the next 1-3 years as bigger programs have openings.
