True Story…

Adolph Rupp was forced to retire in 1972. The University said it was because he was 70 years old and that was the mandatory retirement age for University employees. While that was true, an exception most certainly could’ve been made. However, UK had not been to a Final Four in six seasons and we had not won it all in 14 seasons. So, it was time for Rupp to leave.

That was Adolph Rupp, folks. At the time he was clearly the greatest collegiate basketball coach in history. But, it was time for him to go. He fell victim to the expectations that he himself created, and that the fans now demanded.

Now, fast forward 51 seasons. UK has another hall-of-fame coach that created outlandish expectations because of his early success. But guess what? If we don’t make the Final Four this year, the drought will reach nine seasons, tied for the longest in this program’s history. And the championship drought will reach 11 seasons.

Some of you say fan expectations are unrealistic. I feel the exact opposite. It’s fan expectations that keep the administration from becoming complacent, and ensures that we start over even when it’s controversial.

And for this particular fan, it’s time to start over with someone new.

What’s next after Stoops remains HC

What is next??? My list:

Fire the secondary coach
Fire the OLine coach
Fire the WR coach
Fire the DC (sorry Brad White your time is over but thank you for the dedication)
Hire a DC that will have a scheme change. We have the athletes to do so

Keep Deone Walker and Silver
Get a transfer QB1
Get a transfer RB1
Keep Key and Brown at WR (even though Brown is probably transferring)
Keep LB Wade (sorry to his brother leaving)
Keep Eli Cox and LT Cox for Covid year
Keep shamar Porter from transferring
Get a DB to replace Phillips who needs to move on.
Keep Jackson at LB and if Wallace isn’t a 3rd round pick then bring him back.

Let Coen have full reign of the offense!!!!

I think it’s time to overreact!!!!

I think we have reached the time when we need to overreact!!! We need to blame Cal (which he admittedly he should have them play like defense like Miami by having them run off the 3 line). We need to blame all of our freshman and reeves (who missed shots that they make 9/10 times, sadly that one time happened multiple times tonight). We should blame really whatever else you want to. I don’t post a whole lot but I have been on the board for 10 years. But this loss sucked, it was painful and it was embarrassing. But in reality this was a trap game with a bunch of freshman. Let’s lose one in December against a team we beat 9/10 so that we win 2 in April. And if you are going to be really witty and say with Cal we won’t learn, get some new material.
