SECT Final: March 12, 1995

That was the game Rod Rhodes played horribly at the end and almost gave the game away. Then he sat the bench as we came back and won. Then he cried. Then he transferred.

I remember going to the airport when they got back. He looked like he had been crying when they greeted the fans. Felt awful for him.

One hell of a game. One of the best comebacks I’ve ever seen.

That was an unbelievable game. The defending national champion vs. the national champion the following year. To this day, other than the 1998 Duke game and the 2014 UofL Sweet 16 game (which I attended in person) —- probably the most cathartic UK game I’ve watched. All three have the same thing in common…I was absolutely certain UK was losing the game at some point in the second half.

One of my favorite games. Remember it like it was yesterday. 29 years ago? Damn I'm old.

I will never forget this game as long as I live. When it was over, I remember going outside and my dad was doing yard work (he was too nervous to watch the OT). The sun was shining, the birds were singing, life was perfect. From that point on, Selection Sunday was always like the official beginning of spring.
