But every fan and donor needs to watch rondo and boogie go at it. I wish rondo were a little more emphatic about cal leaving BUT the mind set of cousins. My G-d!! It’s like cal invented basketball in Lexington. These guys coming in have no clue of our tradition. Now we know why they don’t lay it all on the line. It’s sickening to hear him dote on cal and how we didn’t win without him and won’t. It is a must watch. And it’s a damning statement of cal is peddling here. Many of us have known for a long time but if you’re on the fence and you’re not a paid poster by Cals team to come over here I encourage to go watch it.

Kentucky is not only about nba draft night, certainly that's not what our program should 'be about'.

In the first Public statement out of his mouth after all the recent up-roar, he admits he refuses to change. And states what his version of KY is and is about. It does feel like another jab at the fan base.

Everyone is going to go the "woman beater" route, right? But seriously, of the names being tossed about he coaches circles around most/all of them. Guarantee he'd be hungry to get at Texas. I know a guy pretty well that GA'd with him way back in the Penders days at Texas. Knows the story well. If he's accurate, it's a one-off deal. He got a raw deal at Texas and they overreacted. Save this one instance, he's the best choice of the realistic (no, I don't think Wright, Donovan, or Steven are realistic) options. I'd rather have him than Pearl, Oats, Drew, et al.

It feels like a 99.99% chance that Cal is back at this point. Matt Jones did allude to the idea that Cal may not exactly love some of the directives coming his way when the meeting with Barnhart does go down.

My last grasp at hope: Cal, in all his snake-oil ways, was simply using last night’s show to set himself up as a victim of some perceived overreach by Barnhart. “See, folks… I’ve done my best and was prepared to make changes, but they just didn’t line up with those in charge.” Cal outfoxes Barnhart to look like the good guy nationally, the scapegoat that wasn’t given his fair chance to change.

A long shot, of course. But to quote the mastermind that is Lloyd Christmas when told his chances were one in a million, “…so you’re telling me there’s a chance?”

I remember distinctly Tubby going on PTI in 2006/2007 and they questioned why so many Kentucky fans were "out to get him."

Tubby was under a TON of fire at this point in time from the fanbase (and rightfully so) but he responded "I don't think they're out to get me. I just think they want to see Kentucky basketball win championships."

That's one aspect of this that Tubby seemed to grasp that escapes Cal. Cal takes it personally. The criticism clearly gets under his skin and he gets extremely defensive. But for most fans it isn't personal. We love Kentucky basketball. Outside of our families its the most important thing in the world to us.

Tubby understood that but even after 14 years here it seems Cal doesn't.
