Caleb Wilson

We'll see how he performs in college but if he came here he'd maybe be the best day 1 pro prospect we've had since....De'Aaron Fox? Sounds like hyperbole but when I sit and think about it, it's been quite a drought of top end talent.
Reed Sheppard hard to top as a recent day 1 prospect, although I acknowledge he wasn’t on NBA radar and wasn’t highly valued by the media. Time proved he was absolutely that dude and then some. So excited for the possibility of Wilson though.

Abortion, illegal invasion, million$ of illegal drugs into the country, child trafficking, child mutilation, sanctuary cities, economic peril, high risk of war...........just a few things to congratulate this administration for.

The drug thing is the one that pisses me off the most. I cannot believe our society allows 100K people to die each year from Chinese and Mexican poison. To me, that's war level shit.

Cal's honeymoon at Arkansas is already over

Mitch has made several mistakes, he hired BCG, he bit on Cal's UCLA leverage and gave him a fat contract with an impossible buyout and he bit on aTm's leverage and gave Stoops an impossible buyout.

Those last 2 put the university in a really bad spot and giving Cal that one sided contract is some of the reason Cal is who he is. It fed his ego and he knew he had UK by the balls. We just witnessed the worst side of Cal the last few years, now Arkansas is gonna see it.

Cal knew UK couldn't fire him, so he could do whatever the hell he wanted and he did just that.

He wanted UK badly in 07 when BCG was hired, he finally got the job in 09 and I'm sure he had SOME great intentions, but I don't think he ever had UK's best interest in mind, I think it was always about him and the NBA. Looking back on it now, he never regretted his "greatest night in UK history" comment. That guy really has a hard on for the NBA.
I will say Mitch was in a no-win situation with Cal in the contract situation in 2019. Seeing what we got out of Cal, it looks horrendous giving the contract in retrospect but that was a time that Cal still had an extremely high approval rating and his stock was very very high. If Mitch had let Cal go to UCLA (the school who leads us in NCAAT championships) and then Cal won MORE titles for them, Barnhart would have been mercilessly lambasted for centuries. I think everything worked out just the way God intended.

My office shorted me 40 hrs of PTO the last 3 years… of course they changed the cash out unused annual hours policy to boot. Use it or lose it (they say). What has two thumbs and basically won’t be working in December? This MFer.

They clearly don't respect you after the "too scared to fire anyone" fiasco from early in the year.

D-League

Good morning folks. Short week and working from home.

It was a restful Sunday. Watched a crazy Cowboys-Commanders game yesterday. It was 3-3 at the half, 10-9 well into the 4th quarter, and ended up 34-27. In the last five minutes Dallas scored three touchdowns, including a kickoff return 101 yards and a TD off an onsides kick. Washington scored an 80-plus yard TD on an impossible Hail Mary inside a minute only to have the PAT missed that would have tied the game. It was the wildest five minutes of an NFL game I've seen in my life. And as I have hated Washington for eyars, a satisfying one.

Grinding out a work day, and looking forward to T-Day. Have a good day folks.

Upcoming Yellowstone

The writing has always been the weak point with Yellowstone. Most of the characters just don't seem realistic. I'm going to finish it, but I don't care that much how it turns out. "Landman" is not starting out well either, other than Billy Bob. I really hoped that would be good because a lot of it is filmed in Fort Worth.

With a truly great TV series like Sopranos or The Wire, the characters seem so realistic that you kind of miss them when it's over. I don't get that with Yellowstone. Although, Costner was great in it.

POLITICAL THREAD

Why do you think there was such a huge red wave and why do you think the American people elected Trump - a man I’m sure you think is a fascists dictator nazi?

Basically, why do you think the Dems lost to a man your side calls Hitler?
I don't think it is fair to assume all democrats fit the mold of the soundbytes you see.

Incumbents lost everywhere this past election cycle because of inflation. I think most people think that republicans do a better job at controlling inflation and so this with the backlash of incumbency is why he won.

I will be consider the second trump term a success if he is able to:

Reduce government spending
Reduce inflation
Reduce the number of people that live in poverty
Prevent the increase in global conflicts (if possible)

What I really want to see avoided is the culture war nonsense. I don't care anything about those issues at all. I work in a school district (home with a sick kid today) where 60% of the students are free or reduced. The most important thing for me is seeing this population have a higher quality of life.
