"...The team having the most fun."

I coached high school football in the state of Kentucky for almost two decades. Dealing with people, social media, fans, players, parents its all part of the job description; I am very impressed with Coach Pope as a person and how he handles his business; long time reader of this forum but very rarely post. Coach Cal, who I do respect for many reasons, always use to say that the team having the most fun in March is going to make a run (words to that effect) - unfortunately the last few seasons they rarely looked cohesive and looked relieved when it was over. This group seems to be having a blast like young men playing collegiate athletics should. Coach Pope speaks with intelligence and purpose, he allows his assistants to coach and has high expectations for the team AND clearly communicates those expectations with both team and media. We are very fortunate to have a man of his character in our program. None of us know what the ceiling is for this group but I know we are all enjoying the ride! Thank you to Coach Pope and UK administration for making the right decision for the program. The concerted effort to bring back 90s nostalgia and a bond with the state is not only appreciated but the right move!

The light bulbs are finally turning on.

For me, the thing about Pitino going to Louisville is that I can understand his motivations. He chased the money to Boston, realized that he messed up bad, and tried to recapture what he thought was the best time in his life by going back to the state where he was happiest. Problem was, it was Louisville.

He left the program in a good place. I understand it. Time has passed. I can forgive it.

Cal, not so much. He tried to reshape the entire UK program into his personal legacy machine to feed his enormous ego while gaslighting the Big Blue Nation into believing that is all some kind of philanthropic gesture to help poor black kids. Those same kids would have been millionaires even if they had went to Piss Ant University. In the process he drove this program in the ground.

He is dead to me.
Same for me exactly.

Garland weaponized the DOJ to go after Trump and Trump supporters. They are arresting Christians for praying outside of abortion clinics. Some of these cases the DOJ had refused to bring charges while Trump was in office due to nobody actually preventing someone from entering the facility. Garland got into office and they twisted that law as far as they could. 70 year old woman got over 10 years for just praying outside of a building... No excuse to keep Gaetz from being AG if you voted for Garlands corrupt ass.
Not disagreeing with you…but voting to confirm Gaetz is going to be used against every Senator up for re-election in 2026 (whether fair or not)…

NC, IA, OH, NE, ME and potentially Alaska are all going to be hotly contested.

Again, not saying it’s right…but gotta look at it through their POV.

The light bulbs are finally turning on.

All those years uk fans defended "he just rolls the ball out" quips. Turns out those were mostly right all along.

Robic did the coaching. After he left, Cal really was exposed as a fraud. We would've been fortunate if that was all he did. Unfortunately he inserted his awful attempts at coaching into the equation.
I think Cal’s coaching is mostly focused on individual drills and skill development, for what he thinks would be best. It’s why we saw guys regress as the season went on, and the teams lacked any real identity because the main focus was always on the individuals. It was great for Cal’s personal goals of nba picks, but terrible for an actual team concept. If he doesn’t have an assistant to pick up the slack, you see the disjointed mess of the last half decade.
