Kelly might be a decent coach but he exudes an elite level of douchebaggery that I cannot stand. He is such a weird square fit for a program that has such a wildly loose culture.
That TE recruiting vid of him spinning/dancing with shades on was his ‘jumped the shark’ moment and I’m still surprised top players want to play for him.
I’ll say this. He might get tackled after making short yardage a lot easier than some of our options, but you just aren’t going to be able to sustain drives and march it down the field against elite teams. Barion is one of the few guys we’ve ever had that if he gets a seem, can take it to the house against Georgia, Alabama or Texas. To beat those teams you have to force them to make uncharacteristic turnovers and combine it with shock plays from your end.
