NIL Priorities for 2025

Boley threw 14 passes total against a 1-9 FCS team…

Now, if he shows more against Texas and UofL I’d agree with you. Thats the argument to start him.
I understand your thoughts, I really do. The big concern for me is, why would a HS QB want to come here and know that when he is 2nd or 3rd year, Stoops goes to the portal and rents a QB every year. He would waste his opportunity to play when the rental QBs keep coming every year. It is discouraging for a player to commit and always looking over his shoulder to see who is going to be rented for the coming year. Take the time to develop recruits. If I were a D1 QB prospect, no way would i commit to Stoops program. We really have not faired very well with our portal QBs. With Will Levis we had winning overall winning record but losing SEC record and he by far has been the best portal QB we have had. Heck we have two portal QBs this year and we have won a whopping 4 games and possibly only 4 for the whole season. If we are going 4 - 8 or 5 - 7, why not play a young recruit and develop him. A HS QB recruit is not going to develop sitting on the bench.

We UK fans are a bunch of godless heathens

Thats interesting, I've seen their arena packed on Wednesday nights before. just in the last few years of Muss (before they went to ish last season)
And they never had this problem during the Nolan Richardson era either. Weird.

Hmm … I guess Arkansans just very recently found God about the same time Cal was hired. And now they’re so dang devout that they’re the only state to have this excuse.

Possible loss of Marrow to Southern Miss.?

Nobody coming in here to take Stoops job is going to want anybody from the old regime. As for Marrows recruiting it is consistently 12 to 14 ranked in SEC every year. I don't call that good recruiting if we ever want to be any kind of force in this conference
Who should we beat in SEC recruiting. Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, LSU, USC, Florida, Georgia are probably always recruiting better than us. That puts us at 12th automatically. USC has a good in state base.

We have four more games until we play Gonzaga. They only have one game between now and then.

BYU beat Kansas at Helms Banner Arena in Lawrence despite the refs' best efforts, WVA in Morgantown and UCF on a long roadtrip to Orlando -- a place where Kansas lost, for example. BYU also beat Final Four team NC State and Arizona State on neutral courts. They did lose their share of B-12 conference games on the road, but so did most of the teams in that conference. So, I'd say more like a mixed record on the road -- some impressive wins, and some losses to ranked teams in hostile arenas.

I'm hoping Pope will be an improvement over Calipari in "first true road games," as Cal managed to lose most of them, including with his best teams like the 2011 Final Four team, the 2012 National Champs (lost to Indiana) the 2014 Final Four team, the 2017 Elite Eight team. Of his five best teams, only the 38-0 2015 team won it's first road game.

2009-2010 won its first road game at IU. Not including them in Cals top 5 UK teams is a bit bizarre. I agree with the post otherwise.

I read that BYU had a pretty bad road record last year. I’m anxious to see how we do in road games .

I wouldn't put too much stock into that.

The Big12 was tough last year. They were bound to lose a bunch of road games when they had to go on the road and face Baylor, Kansas, Iowa St etc.
