Need I keep saying it? Cal will never win a title ever again in his life. Anthony Davis isn’t coming back.
Cal's locked into certain biases.
Oscar fouls out, he puts in his backup Ware. He is a center. Makes sense.
The problem is that the Wheeler/Toppin/Ware trio has no gravity. Defenders help off them with impunity. Now, if we are up and concerned about defending, maybe it makes sense. However, down in the waning minutes you have to take risks so that you can maximize scoring. NBA teams do it all the time.
Put Toppin in at the 5.
Wheeler/Fredrick/Reeves/Wallace on the court at the same time. Go get those points.

Heard that crap last year and lost to a 15 seed. No as long as cal continues to do cal things this team is going no where
If Cal's teams can't out talent his coaching, they lose.
Talent wasted the last few years is staggering.
Neither does March with fat Cow running the show...he'd F up an NBA all-star team...

Offense wasn't the problem tonight, anyone that knows anything about college basketball knew this game was going to be a rock fight, this was like a tournament game. You had guys that hadn't played all year, guys that hadn't played with each other before. Alot of breakdowns on defense, the longer they play together the better they will get. I have no worries that this team will be playing the final weekend of the season in the NCAA Tourney.
Enough of that. Same was said ladt year. Sick of hearing. Cal is the problem and ain't going away.
I’m patient, and I think we still have a very good team. But I am also sick and tired of losing in the Champions Classic. This should have been a year for a W. Our best, most experienced team in a while, and a down Michigan State team.
Sure, we’ll probably be fine. But we lost another game in the Champions Classic tonight and that sucks.
This team just lost to a horrendously outmanned MSU squad and features 4 seniors and several blue chip freshman. If you don't think a replay of the Wisconsin/KSU/Auburn/St. Peters game is in this teams future in March so long as Cal is at the helm, you are either a member of the Calipari family or ignorant to the reality at hand.
And don't tell me next year's class is saving us. This guy has had 5,000 first round draft picks succeed in the NBA and can't make a final four in nearly 8 years.
I have one task for Cal. Beat the Zags or get out. It’s really that damn simple at this point. Prove to me he can win a big time game.

Well my friend that’s not simple . Our last 2 big games we have lost to St Peters and an unranked Michigan St team .

Totally fair. Biggest issue tonight were lineups. I have no clue what he was doing and I'm probably branded a defender even though the truth is I'm just a UK homer.
Bizarre combos and lack of minutes for guys which was unexplainable.
Exactly right. A couple missed ft attempts cost us the game, plus a few bad calls and, finally, some poor defence at critical times. I'm a UK grad and bleed blue, but UK does not have a God given right to win every game, nor are there 10,000 or so would be coaches out there who always know how the game could have been better coached. If Wallace makes either of those first ft he missed, UK wins. That's on him, not Cal. I agree. Lower the temperature people. This was our first real test and we should have won. This can be a great team by NCAAT time, so chill out.
It’s not like this team was just thrown together either like most years. I can understand that, (early season growing pains and all), but they’ve been together all summer and most for a year or two. This isn’t the New team full of freshmen every year like most seasons. Run, Run, Run! That’s the offense. When the announcer said Wheeler called a play and then said Cal called another one, I almost laughed out of my chair. Go! That was the play. Go! Ohh well. I know I wouldn’t win as many games as Cal and 99% of us on here wouldn’t, most would have a few good plays to run during the game though. I believe I could come up with something for 10 Million Dollars a year. Maybe not. Ha. May check out this next game and see if they run anything that works.
I'm tired of going 1-6 against teams in this showcase. If you are truly the best program all time, you are not 1-6 against some of the better programs (Mich. St. wasn't even ranked).
You can't run a competent offense with three bad shooters on the floor. We just hope and pray Oscar can somehow muscle his way for a basket. Stop our transition and our PG and PF have little chance of scoring in the half court. It's hard to play 3 on 5 every trip.
Very little doubt this team will be good, really good actually. The problem is sometimes we are going to need our coach to step up and actually help us win a game instead of helping us lose with poor offensive sets, poor lineups and piss poor defense on simple out of bounds plays. Cal has shown to be the latter too many times in his career here to count including tonight.

I defended Cal for the most part until last year. Honestly, I was exhausted doing so. Can’t defend him anymore. Excels at underachieving. We all want the same thing here. But it’s hard to chill when the same pattern has re-manifested itself the 3rd game of the year.
Nitpicking but the number just keeps getting higher and higher. He is at $8.5 right now...jfwiw

We just got a sneak peak at the same thing we keep seeing in the NCAAT the last few years. We choke. This game had an NCAAT feel to it and it went the same way as so many of our NCAAT losses. Just choke, choke, choke and let a lesser talented team beat us.
We have these great shooters, but this is what happens in the NCAAT with this garbage offense.
I'm telling you man, this is what we're going to see again in the NCAAT, another choke job.

Agree this had NCAAT feel and unfortunately some slight flashbacks. Not good.
