yep. As tawdry as this is, it's a sports story. The Sypher thing crossed over into general news - I remember some panel on CNN talking politics and culture, and they were discussing Pitino/Sypher. One of them said something close to "Pitino would be fired from any other school in the country." We found out later that Jurich told Ramsey that if he tried to fire RP, Jurich would leave with him. It's obvious who runs that place. Now Jurich is saying he has a perfect record, evidently with a straight face.
If he wasn't fired over Sypher, no way he's fired over this.

When Petrino came back to UofL, his first big interview, the one where he finally sat down and talked about all he'd been through, was given to Forde. Anyone whose read Forde knows that if there's one person Forde has treated worse than Cal, it's Petrino. Forde later said himself that his columns on Petrino were among the "meanest" he'd ever written. So, why in the world if you're Petrino would you give that story/interview to Forde of all people? Because it was arranged by Jurich.

It is much more likely that this is blowing up even more than expected and he is headed back to Louisville for further damage control. A couple recruits on campus are by far the least of his worries at this point. And does anyone really think that Jurich is the reason a recruit would be swayed?

Absolutely. Forde drops this bomb late friday evening. It was a planned crisis management situation. Even the terrible press conference was planned. How poorly that press conference went, tells you how bad its about to get.
Also the fact Forde broke this for them, tells you theyve known about it for awhile. So theyve already been notified of alof of the evidence coming in the book. It must be devastating, if this response is the best they can muster.
