The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

Tucker's been busy going to bat for Putin on Twitter. Apparently Ukraine attacked their own dam. Exactly how you know it was the Russkies.

He makes points worthy of discussion. In fact, others are likewise discussing the issue with like and different perspectives, because we know Russia and Ukraine (and US) have lied in the past over such matters and, therefore, analysis and critique are required for those who don’t just swallow one side without discernment.

I'm at a f'ing loss here why you guys can't seem to fathom there is a risk of nuclear war because of this. People should be going crazy pushing for peace right now.
I'm at a loss why you guys are all in crazy of appeasing Putin because of his implied, but nothing, use of nukes. Besides, give in once & he'll go for his desired goal of taking all of Europe.

Seriously, if you haven't designed a system for you to survive your nuke war concerns, then your post is fake.

Well the US media and Ukraine media also lie about everything. You cannot trust a single piece of information being reported by corporate/state owned media outlets on either side of the conflict.

At least this time there are logical reasons why it would be Russia, as opposed to the laughably stupid reasons the warhawks came up with regarding the pipeline.

But when you excuse one big act of eco terrorism after blaming it on the other side (the media flat out blamed it, but the Biden administration chose its words more carefully), and have major US media outlets reporting its best we don’t know who did it, it muddies the waters when there’s another act of eco terrorism.

Russian collusion, Covid/vaccines, Biden corruption…. these are three subjects that have been lied about to a degree unseen in our history. Not just any lies, but actively pushed by government agencies using media and democrats as water carriers.

And these are only three. There are many more of lesser degrees.

Anybody who believes what our government says, about anything, (election security, climate, the border) can safely be considered a gold-plated moron.

A Russian-installed official in the region, Vladimir Leontyev, said Thursday Ukrainian forces had launched five missile strikes against the Kakhovka dam and hydroelectric power station about 70 kms (44 miles) from Kherson city. He said on Russian TV that if the facilities were destroyed, a critical canal providing water to annexed Crimea would be cut off.

Zelenskyy countered that the Russians have mined the dam and power station, with plans to blow them up in what he called a terrorism act to unleash 18 million cubic meters (4.8 billion gallons) and flood Kherson and dozens of areas where hundreds of thousands of people live. He told the European Council Russia would then blame Ukraine.

None of the claims could be independently verified.

Russia’s new military commander in Ukraine this week acknowledged the threat posed by Ukraine’s counteroffensive to Kherson, and Britain’s Defense Ministry interpreted that Thursday to mean, “Russian authorities are seriously considering a major withdrawal of their forces from the area west of the Dnieper River.”

I think Russia blew the dam and their military may be the most incompetent organization in the world. They have all the resources but fight like the British in the revolutionary war.

Another Russian official falls to death.

A 42 year-old judge, whose wife was “walking the dog,” when he fell.

If I had any position of authority in Russia, I would remain very grounded!

The leading causes of death in current Russia:

(1) Cancer;
(2) Heart Disease;
(3) Military Service;
(4) The Twelfth Floor;
(5) The Eleventh Floor;
(6) Alcohol Poisoning;
(7) Hypertension;
(8) The Seventh Floor . . . .

True, but you have to give the Brits credit: they had a clear chain-of-command and common purpose.

They had no Wagner daily declarations against their regular military.

The hessians would have gone nuts on social media though. They gave zero shts. And yeah the Russians absolutely zero organization. It’s really incomprehensible how inept this operation has been.

It makes a person wonder how many were sacrificed to such gross incompetence during WWII.

The Russian/Soviet Army has always begrudgingly been given great credit for the defeat of Hitler, simply because of their massive losses.

But how many of those millions were sacrificed due to Vodka and pure stupidity?

My money is on incompetence. The soviet experience didn’t lend itself to growth. There was no iron to sharpen iron. Only the other loser next to you wetting his pants while you crapped yours. The USSR had zero regard for human life especially its own and that’s what Putin has done here. No technology he bragged about just meat to the grinder like a zombie flick.

But yeah to follow up on the vodka remark. I’ve traveled to a lot of locations for scuba diving where Russians frequent. It’s mostly Russia mob because they are the only ones who can afford to travel. One common thing is that other than being very rude, Russian elites are stupid and they are suicidal. Difficult dives hundreds killed themselves drinking and trying very deep dives with one tank of air or no tank of air just weights and vodka. Stupid and reckless. Once the idiots nearly cost me and another person our life for being stupid. Like I said though these aren’t ordinary Russians but they are indicative of the mindset of the mobster type leadership. Arrogant and stupid.

I don't make much of the little villages Ukraine claims to have taken. Insignificant imo.

All Quiet on the Eastern Front or what?

The silence is ominous.
Just maintaining an observatory wait-and-see approach on the counter-offensive in the south and elsewhere.

Very entertaining to watch the Wagner/Russian MOD feud at the moment. Please let it continue! Will Russia blow another dam in the near future? Won’t shock anyone.

“I believe Ukrainians today are one of the strongest armies in the world,” Prigozhin said. He called Kyiv’s forces “highly organized, highly trained and their intelligence is on the highest level, they can operate any military system with equal success, a Soviet or a NATO one.”

He warned that if Russian losses continue to mount, “all these divisions can end in what is a revolution, just like in 1917.”

“First the soldiers will stand up, and after that – their loved ones will rise up. It is wrong to think that there are hundreds of them – there are already tens of thousands of them – relatives of those killed,” he said. “And there will probably be hundreds of thousands – we cannot avoid that.”

Looks like the counteroffensive is going no where fast. Seems like the only way Ukraine could be successful is if they attack Russia proper and make them fight on their own soil.

Don't denigrate the British Army of the 18th Century. They stood & fought/charged vs. being trench pussies.

Idk man it seems like a stalemate at this point. Seems like zelensky is throwing everything right now. Putin talking about another go at Kyiv. 😂 seems like time for talks.
This seems like what everyone outside R & U have been waiting for.
