Steve Kerr.....Man of Principle and Courage

I don't have a personal or political agenda when listening to this. I think it is entirely possible that he did not have a great deal of info when discussing this topic. He said he has just started reading about it.
Like most thoughtful people, he wanted more information before he made a statement that will belong to him (and) be repeated. Until knowing more about the time frame of this interview I am not sure bashing him is warranted, unless you do have a political agenda.

He seems to have a great deal of info and opinion on most other issues.

China isn't a great secret. They're one of the oldest cultures in the world. Their society from the earliest available recorded history until the present has been widely studied and in-depth.

Steve Kerr isn't ignorant. He lived in a foreign country and has traveled abroad his whole life via his profession. Particularly to China. His brother in law is a Chinese history professor.

He knows about China.

That half-cocked looney tune answer about AR 15s is proof that he's flustered. He knows deep down the issues but he's been told to toe the line, and it has him shook.

Classic deflection...

"Well what do you think about China xyz issue?"

"buh buh buh buh...AR 15s...Americas issues...buh buh buh..."

Yeah, we get it, America has issues to but that wasn't the question. A mad man losing his marbles and shooting up a joint isn't a grand systemic design. Fascism is, censorship is, camps full of Muslims are, offing dissidents is, a social credit system is, children and people in general working for a pack of damp Marlboros and a rusty nickel is...and on and on...

US Intel people are out for the Deep State first & foremost.
Kim Strassel's article today, Whistleblowers and the Real Deep State, lays this bare:

"House Democrats are plowing ahead with an impeachment effort inspired by accusations from an anonymous “whistleblower.” The lawmakers may allow the witness to testify anonymously, sources who themselves remained anonymous told the Washington Post this week. It’s as if the whole effort is designed to confirm President Trump’s complaint that the “deep state” is determined to sabotage his presidency.
....

The “deep state”—if we are to use the term—is better defined as consisting of career civil servants, who have growing power in the administrative state but work in the shadows. As government grows, so do the challenges of supervising a bureaucracy swelling in both size and power. Emboldened by employment rules that make it all but impossible to fire career employees, this internal civil “resistance” has proved willing to take ever more outrageous actions against the president and his policies, using the tools of both traditional and social media."

She lists a multitude of examples - many well-known, others not so much - that makes the point. Sickening.

"But the job of civil servants is to implement, not undermine, the policies established by elected officials. A government paycheck doesn’t entitle them to call the shots. The bureaucratic resistance has used its power to delay and undermine Trump proposals, leak government information, gin up controversies to run Trump cabinet heads out of Washington—and now provide an excuse for impeachment. Many call themselves whistleblowers, but that’s a bastardization of an honorable word. Whistleblowers expose government fraud; resisters sabotage policy and attempt to undermine an elected government’s legitimacy."

She's a great American hero.

I understand why he wouldn't want to talk about China ($$$$'s), I really don't care what NBA players think or what they say. What I do care about is how our elected officials feel about China and how they treat their people. Generally across the board Democrats and Republicans condemn China's anti-democratic ways. There is one currently running for President who does not and in fact when he speaks on China he speaks on it in an admiring way. That man is none other than the bum Bernie Sanders. I don't care how liberal or progressive you are, if you support Bernie Sanders you need to reevaluate your opinion. Vote for Warren or someone else because Bernie would take all our freedoms away in a heartbeat. It's one thing to tax some and give to others for social welfare (Socialism), it's another thing entirely to tell everyone what they are and aren't going to do (Communism) and that is the America Bernie wants.
