Russia - Ukraine WAR Warning: Political Discussions

RUS has it's hands full in UA and is in very real danger of either loss or stalemate.

That's the first thing I thought of. Putin is not going to stop until he's stopped, so you would think that Poland, etc. would be doing anything and everything needed to stop him until it comes to their soil.

The only thing coming to Poland soil is more of the 82nd Airborne. Besides, that would be attacking NATO.

“In recent weeks, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered 4,700 members of the 82nd Airborne Division to deploy to Poland as a show of support to NATO allies. Another 300 soldiers from the XVIII Airborne Corps made their way to Germany, while 1,000 soldiers from the Germany-based 2nd Cavalry Regiment went to Romania.”

I can't see China wanting to get a single one of their soldiers killed in this cluster***. China is ruthless and is NEVER going to see Russia as being on their same level. If they are friendly with them, it's only because they want to bend them over backwards on discounted Oil and Gas, wheat, etc.

I shouldn't have said Poland. He won't go after any NATO countries, correct. So I guess Ukraine is pretty much up sh*t creek.

"Russia has asked China for military and economic assistance in its war against Ukraine, Fox News has confirmed."

Hmmm....

Russia has been beaten since the 1st day. Give Russia the best day they could have, they take over the entire country tomorrow. Then what? Taking and holding are two different things. Even when they are successful they are outrunning their supply lines. Their entire operation is unsustainable since its inception. Flawed planning meeting flawed execution supported by flawed logistics. The definition of a losing cause from the get-go.

On another note, Joe Biden was not ever good at military decision making before his son died, but since then he is seemingly unable to order young men into combat with the thought of his dead son weighing on him heavily. Not sure how a President can recuse himself from military decision making, but we need to figure out a way for Joe to step aside and let the Pentagon run this thing as Joe and Kamala just are not up to the job and this is too important for them to be allowed to flub it. We can stop Putin cold in Ukraine unless we let him bluff us with a 10 and a 2 as his hole cards.

Step aside, Joe. Let the folks that know what needs to be done run this thing.

Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling predicted Russia would not be able to take and hold Kyiv on day one. I give him a ton of credit for making that call way before anyone thought Russia losing in Ukraine was possible.
The war never made sense from the get go. If they were competent they would have amassed double the troops or more from beginning. Putin may not be “crazy” but he may have not been as smart as many have said.

Especially with technology nowadays. EVERYTHING is seen by someone. Makes it even harder.

As an old boss used to say, "That's a poor execution of a bad idea.".

Russia encircling cities makes it easier to pick off their assets from behind imo.

Now there is growing calls to send those planes and more from a bipartisan group of senators. The problem is that fat yap biden drew himself a redline that if he does it he will be starting ww3. What a fn joke we have running the show

The whole speech Biden gave was a complete disaster. Especially the parts where he adlibs into his "personal feelings" and you can see his son weighing on him. Absolutely disqualifies him from making these decisions. His dead son makes him incapable of making tough military choices as we need to accept that Joe is going to be too weak too often and he is the only thing giving Putin oxygen at this point. Getting those planes to Ukraine should have been a no-brainer but Joe foolishly ceded the bluff to Putin. Send the planes, start WW3. What an epically stupid thing to say. Should have said "yes, we're sending the planes and Mr. Putin better carefully consider his next few decisions as any engagement of US/NATO assets will be responded to in kind, immediately. "

Joe should stress "responding" as that shows proportionality and is reasonable. Clucking like a chicken over Russia is making things more dangerous, not less.

Russians targeting civilians is a TACTIC they use regardless of whether they believe a civilian building is hiding a military target. It's literally how they do war.

French journalists reporting that Ukraine is firing on their own people. Not just in the eastern provinces (which has continued for 8 years), but in the western portions (cities) and at the border as men and their families are trying to leave the country. You'll need a vpn to see the reports. May still be visible from vpn locations in europe.

The Ukrainian army was firing on its own citizens as they fled the cities into the humanitarian corridors the Russians had opened for safe travel.

Him and a couple of others are disgusting. Wish they'd keep it on the political thread.
Yea. We want nuclear war and millions of deaths. We can't have no people on here talking about deescaltion or staying out of it all together. KILL KILL KILL. Lets get boots on the ground so we can get some Americans in caskets. Hell, its been 10 months since we've had Americans die in another country.

WTF? Show where I said that we should get in the war.
Show where I said I didn't want peace. WTF?

nah man, some on this thread think everything is a conspiracy and actually go out of their way to mock others when they share their thoughts and deter them from even posting on the thread. Same guys do the same thing on the political thread. Internet bullies AKA dorks.

"Irakli Okruashvili, a former defense minister of Georgia, last week joined a Ukrainian foreign-fighter regiment created to face down the Russian invasion in a hurry. Three days later, he and a group of countrymen, former special-forces soldiers, made contact with Russian troops north of Kyiv.

With a U.S.-supplied .50-caliber Barrett M99 single-shot anti-armor precision rifle, the Georgian unit disabled two Russian armed vehicles, Mr. Okruashvili said, before falling under a sustained reply from 152-millimeter howitzer cannons.

After several hours, Ukrainian planes bombed the Russian artillery positions, silencing them.
A combination of international arms and foreign volunteers has joined Ukraine’s efforts to impede the Russian advance in the third week of the conflict, and are now playing a growing role as the fighting spreads."

- So these guys are taking it to R behind the R front.

"Kyiv is welcoming all outside assistance. The forces at its disposal are far smaller than those of Russia and are unable to fight on an equal footing. Russia’s armed forces count 900,000 personnel, compared with Ukraine’s 209,000 active troops, according to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, a London think tank. The Ukrainian number doesn’t include recent mobilizations."

OK, but it's not like R can put 900K of forces in U while U can put all 200K+ of their forces there. Net, numbers not as uneven as it sounds.

"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last month announced the formation of the International Legion of Defense of Ukraine, appealing to veteran soldiers outside the country who have specialized skills and experience in war to join the fight.

The international units are a component of the country’s regular armed forces and report to its general staff. Foreigners serve under Ukrainian officers. A spokesman for the group confirmed that some foreign units were already fighting on the front line."

"Kyiv said 20,000 foreigners had enlisted in the International Legion and that there were nearly 13 million visits to the group’s website in its first 24 hours. The Wall Street Journal couldn’t independently verify these figures."

I've always favored this. How many men die because of the greed and ego of politicians and their masters? You want to fight? You go do it as well. Just like I have issue with women being able to vote while avoiding war.

I always think of this scene from Troy.

Thinking women shouldn’t be allowed to vote because they aren’t in combat lol.

this thread is deranged.

Yeah. That's what I saw. 2 reports. Saw one on a news broadcast, and one in the field. Confirms earlier interview with a Ukrainian refugee family interviewed in Romania. Some of the direct footage of them doing that is pretty disturbing.

Just read an account from a volunteer military guy who joined up to fight the Russians. Needless to say it isn't going well for Ukraine. You can't believe the numbers from either side but the constant gaslighting about the valiant Ukrainian effort is collapsing.

Yes, I was here today and blown off the top bunk of my bunk bed in the barracks by the first missile. This is where all the foreign legion troops are, the 35 killed were all Ukrainian mostly due to a direct hit on their barracks next to mine. The base is destroyed, the weapons depot destroyed, possibly the end of the legion. About 60 people with their heads on straight including myself left after the attack. They’re sending untrained guys to the front with little ammo and shit AKs and they’re getting killed. The guys who stayed got bombed again in the afternoon and casualties aren’t clear. If you still want to to join them I’m not sure what the process will be since literally all the infrastructure supporting the training/assignments of volunteers is all destroyed. The guys who are there now will all be going to Kyiv and many will die, the legion is totally outgunned and has a few crazy Ukrainian leaders. After the attack one officer wanted to march everyone to Kyiv and fight. Absolute insanity. Stay home.

I didn’t go to Ukraine for the clout. I asked the right questions, deleted my posts, actually bought a plane ticket and brought my ass over. I said in another comment that yes it was 35 Ukrainians killed because their barracks got directly hit. The 180 bullshit is real Russian propaganda. If you think I’m a Russian agent you’re just in denial that the situation is absolutely ****ed. Go ahead and join the legion, by all means, but be very aware of how bad Kyiv is going to get and be aware that Russians have warplanes and you will have next to nothing. Be very acceptant of the possibility of death. Those of us who left, including SF operators from multiple countries, are simply risk mitigating. No one wants to die in an unfair fight, and after getting absolutely ****ing pummeled by massive cruise missiles today – yeah I kind of want people to think twice before turning their life upside down to go and volunteer.

Like a lot of dudes there have experience and really wanted to shape the battlefield and impact their advance, but ultimately they’re manning frontline positions that are going to get hammered with artillery and airstrikes, buried under rubble and your family never gets your body. That’s when a lot of guys say yeah this isn’t our fight, not like this.
