Russia - Ukraine WAR Warning: Political Discussions

James Lee laughs at my post as he aligns himself with people like John Kerry who came out yesterday and said that he hopes people don’t focus too much on Ukraine as that will take the focus off of climate change. You just cannot fix stupid people. You can’t.

Looking at a bunch of your old posts, I just shake my head. Half the country is so uneducated and even selfish that they vote (or don’t vote in your case) because they dont like the person. The policies that affect the entire country are what each citizen should post on, not the persons personality. That’s TMZ sh*t. The guy makes me cringe, but I happily voted for AMERICA when I voted Trump.
Why would I vote if there isn't an option that I like? I'm not in the business of voting for the lesser of 2 evils and I will not let that be on my conscience. One day I will vote if there is someone I like but that time hasn't come and its unlikely that it comes in 2024 based on the options that are already on the table.

I've liked Marco Rubio, Beto O'Rourke, Ben Carson, and to a lesser extent Andrew Yang. I don't feel like voting for another 60 or 70 year old.

In 2016, when Trump won the GOP primary and Hillary was ordained the Dem candidate, I dropped all politics, separated myself from the news, watched no presidential debates (turned off SNL), and voted for McMullen. I think voting for a third party candidate sends more of a message, slightly more, than not voting.

In 2016 it felt like we had 2 (at least) decent third party candidates but I didn't feel that was the case in 2020. My wife voted but I did not.

If everyone voted for who they truly believed in we might actually get legitimate leaders. Voting for Republicans or Democrats as if it’s an SEC player of the week poll where we vote for the Cats out of loyalty does far more damage to society than not voting or voting 3rd party.

Two mornings now where I wake up to see partisans take over thread, rape it, and turn it into a Donald Trump fanboy convention. Going to take a nuclear bomb on US soil before you realize you’re on the same team

NOW we’re on the same team. A year ago Nazi white supremacist toxic Jussie beaters, but now that Joe is a disaster that can’t be hidden anymore from the world, same team.

Makes perfect sense.

At this point this has become a version of sports fandom, you are right. No one is willing to be objective if that means questioning your own team.

Yeah that half a percentage point vote he got really sent a strong message.

I get what you are saying but I also understand that he is talking about a large group making a difference. Not just him. If you vote that way then by default you have to put faith in others to also use their voting rights to make a difference.

For me I just don't expect the American people to change and I also don't want my first vote ever to be a throwaway.

This is why I quit my old team and registered independent in 2010. Sure, I sometimes miss not being able to vote in Kentucky primaries, but I’ll be damned if I willingly participate in partisan tribalism when neither side truly represents me.

I’m a fiscal moderate who supports cutting all government spending - including defense - but also doesn’t necessarily believe all social programs that help the truly disadvantaged are evil. I’m perfectly fine with the second amendment even though guns aren’t my passion. I have no issue with a strong national defense but prefer to not play world police.

I’m also extremely socially liberal because I really DGAF how another person chooses to live life, who they bang as long as said bangee is legally of consenting age, how they look/dress, what god or gods they do or don’t worship and what substances someone chooses to ingest in the privacy of their home.

Blue team spends more time on identity politics instead of real issues. Red team is full on Christian Nationalist yearning for an era long gone. I find both of these repugnant and can’t in good conscience be a member of either team.

Count me on that red team

I like this a lot. Great post. I feel the same way.

Cool. Too bad the 1950s are gone and never coming back. At least you admit your disgusting Christian nationalism, which is a form of bigotry.

Personally, I don’t care where someone is from or what religion they belong to. Good people come from all different backgrounds. Bad people too.

I was not attacking you I was attacking mainly Twitter. And the gas lighting that's going on on both sides. I don't know what's true and what isn't, just like with that armored vehicle running over the car.
Well, we are in a middle of a war involving two of the greatest propaganda powers in the history of the planet. I’m starting to have information overload honestly. About to start day drinking. It’s Friday so it means I’m not an alcoholic.

There are some signs the Ghost of Kyiv was/is real along with the Ace claims but certainly could be morale exaggeration. Probably somewhere in the middle. Would be an amazing story.
