Agree, number of cases is not the telling metric. The one to really watch is death rate. If cases go up, but death rate does not rise with it, then it likely means the virus is mutating to a less deadly variant or tx are getting better, or both. These would be good things, esp if covid worked its way down to the flu or a common cold.I don't give a rat's ass about "cases", and neither does my bestie. Once again, the death rate is much lower than average for the country. They're doing just fine up there.
One thing to be sure ... when this started there were reports of ppl bleeding out their eyes and nose as it was ravaging wuhan and china was welding their citizens inside their homes to die. I was reading these reports while deciding whether to travel for work.
That threat was a reason to be very concerned. I think both sides can agree we are no longer at that place.
