  • NO - Disqualified

    Votes: 9 18.0%

  • Total voters

I like Scott, but he didnt get any votes cause he's a terrible speaker. The goal is to put in a candidate that would win, he would lose to anyone with great speaking skills. I'm not sure if you're aware, but the public votes on who moves forward. To imply that the public is intentionally trying to keep black candidates from moving on sounds about as stupid as the UK fans who said we chased Tubby off cause he's black.

Having a black Repub would give the party a HUGE boost, im all for it....unfortunately we dont have any that can speak like Obama. Black Repubs are in a very very small pool of people.
Yes, the Republican electorate as a whole will not currently nominate a Black candidate for president. That's exactly what I'm saying. And it's the straight truth. You may not be willing to accept it, but that doesn't make it any less true.

It would be a ridiculous mistake for the Far Left to try to sabotage this convention, especially in an election that looks like a toss-up. It will help the Democrats with swing voters as much as it would've helped Trump if another January 6 shitshow had happened blocks away from his convention, or as much as it "helped" the Democrats in 1968.
The far left took over the dnc in the 60's with the same exact tactic in the same exact city. The Jacobian revolution in France only had 3% Jacobian's in it.... They just were so militant they forced other groups to yield to them.

If it's a search fee to find which hospital to request a free replacement birth certificate, not sure that's a poll tax.

Would be like saying gas to get to the bmv for a free ID is a poll tax.

Has to be some limit to that silliness.
No, you can walk to the polls. By that reductio ad absurdum you could say food should be free because you require it to eat to live to vote. That's not the same at all as a required fee for required documentation to vote. That's why all the states with ID requirements provide one for free. To avoid this exact constitutional problem.

No, you’re fundamentally misunderstanding somehow. Dobbs did not limit what the federal government could do in regards to abortion at all. Congress is free to pass any law they want, what Dobbs did was remove the constitutional protections derived from Roe. So now the constitution doesn’t speak on abortion at all and Congress can do as they please on the issue, instead of having a constitutional right to abortion from the 14th. Federal abortion laws are all now fair game.

That doesn't solve the problem of US citizens ONLY, being able to vote in Federal elections.

Those documents exist for a reason. It's not my problem if people lose them. If you lose your wallet, for example, it's a pain the ass to recover/protect/cancel/replace what was in it. But one does it even so... It's called doing what is necessary/being an adult.

Meisha Mainor seems good, Tim Scott is smart...just not a good speaker. Kenneth Paschal is good.

I didnt say there weren't any qualified black Repubs, i said theres not many black republicans period. If blacks make up approx 13% of the US, but the vast majority are Dem, Republicans dont have a large table to choose from. Its simple math.

Lots of young black military republican vets, not all very experienced, but very impressive futures it seems.

Donald's, hunt, James, etc. Klacik and others for the ladies.

Not the point. Lia Thomas was ranked 495th as a man, top 5 as a girl.

That's the point, you absolute moron.
Again, still not good enough. The time is what it is, no matter what genitalia Lia Thomas has. Same for the theoretical daughter. The clock doesn't lie. Only your perception of what it means does.

Fair enough, but whatever happened in the 60s resulted in a bloodbath in the election in November. As for the French Revolution, I would argue that the percentage of radicals was far higher than 3%, especially in Paris, in any event, they ultimately lost, as well.

I made the distinction between a fee to search a database from perhaps a private company because you lost the original they gave your family to find where to get your free replacement birth certificate.

I didn't say shit about driving to the polling place, I said the bmv. My nearest bmv is about 8 miles away. Even if I take the bus, that costs money, so is it STILL unconstitutional?

Make a real point here, and quit making up shit I never said. And quit using some quasi intellectual 'reducto ad absurdum' nonsense.

You sound like a pompous first year law student. Except you didn't go to law school.

Then figure out a way that does. Make that documentation free if you want.

It's the Constitution's problem, though. Voting can never be contingent on money, period. Constitutionally. You can make me jump through whatever bureaucratic hoops to vote you want, but none of them can cost one ever-loving red cent. Constitutionally.

So Riley Gaines just shouldn't swim because she can't beat Phelps or Ledecky?

Ok, then, shinsplints. (Since that's about his level of intellect)

Already solved. You get a free copy of all the documents I listed (to prove citizenship) Replacement cost isn't the tax payers' problem.

Photo ID? I have no problem providing those for free. But again, that's not my problem. However, it IS a necessity to insure a fair Federal election. (along with the FREE documents that I, you know, already listed) I'm telling you how to solve the problem, you're hung up on how to pay for it, so your argument is not with me.

Apologize, Classics major, Latin crap happens sometimes when I've been drinking. Bus, driving, whatever, the point is still the same; you can walk to the polls on your own two feet.

She should swim for the exact same reason she ever has, to beat her times. If she was only swimming for the podium, sorry, but life doesn't hand out participation awards. That's what y'all are always saying, right?

Both genders are saying the hell with marriage...while they're young. The days of kids and marriage by the time you're 24 is over. People are having kids in their 30s or getting married in their 40s now. Some don't want children at all. Trump will grab some of the young males for various reasons. He and Vance give off an out of date mindset where men are the strong providers and women take care of kids. That doesn't jive with current women. The abortion issue pretty much screwed republicans as well as Project 2025. That's spooking people. Folks just wanna be left alone, they don't want America torn down and built back up as some Christian conservative's wet dream, which likely includes abortion and book bans. In general, being weirdly aggressive towards women or believing they all crave abortions (this is the vibe MAGA gives off) is just an odd and incorrect reaction to the issue. Hell, we've had republicans recently suggest having committees whose job it is to check the junk of athletes, men and women. That's weird.

Anyway, I like some of your takes. You always seem pretty calm which is unusual for this thread lol.

Crazy Christians want children’s books in kids libraries that are explicit with sex and pornography banned.

Such a radical position.

Most rational people do not want this no matter what your fav redditor forum says. The only people that would push for kids to have access to these types of books in a school are groomers and pedos. Does the shoe fit?

Agreed but they want control of the party. That's what they see as their means to the levers of power. They are more than willing to sacrifice Kamala to get a muslim or commie on the ticket in the next couple of cycles.

They aren't going to just vote as a block.... They want in at the top of the ticket and are making it clear they will sit out if they aren't appeased... just like in the 60's and then people like Clinton got elected and people like Obama got elected. The dnc just keeps moving left. The further they move left the more they scream about normal people being way far right. LOL

I think the time is actually coming for Black Republicans. We just aren't there yet. Same with Buttigieg for the Dems this cycle.

I'm saying you get a birth certificate for free. And you also get citizenship papers for free. If you lose them, that's on you. But you DO get them for free. YOU GET THEM FOR FREE Dion. LOL

(And they don't expire)

This could absolutely be an inflection point. The protesters don't care though. They're doing what they think is right despite the strategy. Hard to fault them.

Doesn't matter, you aren't legally responsible for the upkeep of those documents as you're a minor. Duh. Like I said, if you're talking about offering free replacements, sure. But you can't claim providing the originals as meeting the constitutional standard.

You dont have to be Republican to vote in the Repub primaries. And a black man/woman would excel in the party because we all know black people from both parties would vote for them regardless of what side theyre on. But our black candidates the last 15 years haven't had one tenth of the speaking ability of a Obama, therefore they lose. I'm surprised this is so difficult to comprehend.

If blacks make up for 13% of the US population, what % are Republican and what % of that want to be in politics? By numbers, we're lucky to have any.

The manner or cost of how replacements are obtained is YOUR issue, not mine. Free or not, it does not change the fact that proof that you are entitled to register, and then prove who you are, to vote in an election should be required. Work the rest out on your own.

Like I said; your issue isn't with the law, it is with funding. I mean, you ARE for valid Federal elections, right? (I suspect that you are NOT, in fact, for transparent/fair/legal Federal elections) LOL

Well, I don't actually SUSPECT it, I KNOW it to be fact, based on what you say.

Fine with me. Like I've always said, long as it's free.

Why? What would I have against fair elections? I'm the one always advocating for fairer elections where someone in Wyoming's vote doesn't count more than 4 times what someone in California's does. Or RCV, where you can vote for who you actually want instead of always having to hold your nose.

This is easy.
Are the Repubs supposed to beg them to run like Dems do? Its a homerun if they want the position due to sweeping the votes on both sides... but Black people dont want to run for president on the Repub side. Black people are only 13% of the population, what is the % of blacks that are Republicans, maybe half a percent at best? It's not like thousands grow up dreaming of becoming a politician. Seems like the love the mayoral positions and it stops there.

Dems have more minorities in politics because theyre gifted or pushed into it. Thats EXACTLY how you get nut cases pushing for violence like Maxine Waters, or classless losers like Stacey Abrams, or completely lost politicians like Kamala. They aren't qualified and have made terrible fools of themselves. They weren't qualified, they were gifted the position through skin color.

I like Tim Scott, and he seemed motivated but he's not sharp enough to carry on a conversation about anything but gas prices. He'd get demolished in an open debate. Nikki Haley is great, she'd beat Kamala with ease but thats another conversation.

But if you want to discuss DEI, why aren't there more white running backs in the NFL?
Different skill set running in NFL vs being a politician

SCOTUS has held that requiring a photo ID/proof of Citizenship is NOT a poll tax. So this entire debate is silly (as a practical matter)

So, the law is clear; States have the right, nay, the RESPONSIBILITY to demand those bona fides of a voter who wishes to participate in a Federal Election. The big question is, why are states that DON'T require strict compliance with Federal election law not being sued to hell and back?

She's an idiot. Trump's an idiot.

I suspect that Trump actually has an above average IQ, but may be "on the spectrum". Asperger's etc. Trouble with impulse control and difficulty recognizing social cues.

Kamala might be the same, but she has no actual "track record" to base anything on. She hasn't really ever accomplished ANYTHING in life. It's been just like Biden (and, to be fair, a LOT of politicians, on both sides of the aisle) Career politicians, are there for a reason, and it "weren't brains that got them there..." They're a cancer, and THE primary reason this country is this | | close to being proper f***ed.
