I'm sure the watchdogs will be all over it. After all, what was in the leaked HC and DNC emails wasn't important, how they got them was paramount.

And just remember regarding private citizen info.....if they can do it to one person, they can do it to you. Not something to celebrate, frankly.

This story is really starting to blow up on NYT. More people are talking about how what they're trying to do is unethical & borderline illegal than they are about the actual tax returns.

Don't worry, though, the FBI will have trouble finding criminal intent & they're already working on immunity deals for everyone as we speak.

Wonder why they're purposely waiting til after the election to hike the interest rates? Maybe to make the economy appear to be better than it actually is & to aide the Democrats' cause?

She was a 52-year-old woman who had worked 20 years for the railroad, had once been a Democrat and was now a Republican, and counted herself among the growing swath of people who occupied the fringes of American politics but were increasingly becoming part of the mainstream. Like millions of others, she believed that President Obama was a Muslim. And like so many she had gotten to know online through social media, she also believed that he was likely gay, that Michelle Obama could be a man, and that the Obama children were possibly kidnapped from a family now searching for them.

No way the Times is made to pay for that seeming "invasion of privacy" - the argument would deteriorate into a First Amendment/free press/public has right to know morass. Wouldn't be settled for years anyway.

There are two points for liberals to make about the Times tax story. Neither are legitimate, but they'll make hay anyway. The first is obvious: Trump is a billionaire and pays no taxes!!! As everyone has said, meh - he lost $916 million one year, and gets to carry that forward offsetting his income until it runs out (or for 15 years, whichever comes first). There is absolutely nothing wrong or out of the ordinary about that, but many won't know that (and many who do know will still cynically push the story).

The second way is more effective, IMO. And that is to use it as a broadside against Donald's abilities as a businessman. To puncture that notoriously thin skin. Hillary will definitely bring this up in the next debate, a townhall format: "Donald like to think he's a successful businessman, but as the NY Times reported, he lost $916 million IN A SINGLE YEAR! We can't afford that kind of incompetence." And then for the rest of the debate Trump will stammer and refuse to move on and beat the point defensively, in a way no one will understand.

We'll see. Stone has been FOS before, but who knows what Assange might've been sitting on all summer.

That being said, if they have something, they need to drop is sooner rather than later. Early voting has already started in multiple states and more are coming online in the next week or so. Obama won several battlegrounds in 2012 based almost entirely on his early vote margin.

The announcement was cancelled. The leaks may still happen. That is, if this is not just a big circus show. I will say that the DNC leaks were legit, so who knows?

I'm not saying there isn't more dirt on her, but clearly the media isn't giving much credibility in the leaks and it isn't big news.

I'm not a big social media type but clearly there is a little impact there, has to be for these to keep popping up.

The problem is democrats don't care and see it as corruption against their candidate. At this point I don't even care anymore. I truly believe we are in trouble and even though business wise I'd like to think Trump would be best, if we are in a war then neither is the person I'd want in charge.

I do believe a war is coming, and I also believe we are screwed.
