So you think it is good the Dems are united behind a shitty candidate but it is a negative that the GOP is not united behind a shitty candidate?
I think it was pretty clear I was responding to an assertion that the liberal party would be forever gone as a result of this election.
As an independent I really couldn't care less. However, I thought it was a strange statement considering that the one Party who seems split in a very dramatic way is the Rep Party.
If Trump loses, he isn't disappearing from the limelight. He will start his own news network with Roger Ailes--maybe call it the TNN Trump News Ntwk--and continue to espouse his political viewpoints.
At that point, all of those Rep who couldn't bring themselves to support him, or went out of their way to not support him, will be unable to join his side. Then you get a split party. I have no idea if that will happen. But there is more evidence of that happening before the liberal party splitting up.
And that is another reason I am concerned about Trump. He is a bull in a China shop and has taken as many Rep casualties as he has Dems.
So I don't turn this into me arguing with everyone--here is my bottom line:
I feel that Trump, more than anything, is incapable of practicing any form of restraint. There are many examples of this, so I don't think I need to provide them. I believe the Presidency is a lofty office where prolly the most important characteristic is the ability to practice restraint. Even in the face of unbelievable pressure and in situations where the popular decision is not always the correct decision.
That is the bottom line for me--Hillary, flaws and all, I think she has shown restraint in various situations. Truthfully, if she ever practiced even a single moment of restraint, it would be one more than I have ever seen Trump display.
JMHO. It is a shame these are the choices that we have in this election. So I am doing what I feel is best for the country. Just like others voting the opposite are doing.
