Shouldn’t the 4 democrats currently running for president be recusing themselves from any and all of this? Talk about a conflict of interest. Would them being recused change the number of votes needed for a simple majority?

You don’t hear from him because he’s an afterthought like all VP’s. How do you think Biden was able to get away with all the Ukraine and other shenanigans. Nobody pays attention. All of it was under the radar because nobody give two shits what the VP is up to day to day.
That would be the right thing to do as they are actually acting as a jurist, not a Senator. This is a conflict of interest if anything is a conflict of interest. So before the trial began Trump was down four. Automatic. This is partial politics not "justice" or wanting the truth so we live with it.
Trump will use this to his advantage.
You'd think...if the shoe were on the other foot you'd hear nothing but recuse stories from the media. Ole dufus Sessions is a staunch believer in listening to demosocialcommunists. He actually probably got President Trump on the presidential map as a viable candidate then caved due solely to a stupid "media" perception to where he MUST recuse himself... Understood but President Trump picked Mike Pence as a different sort and Mike Pence knew it. I sure hope he doesn't let president Trump down when President Trump really needs him...(We shall see..Who knows how deep the swamp goes...)

I have been preaching this for years. A biased press did not begin with Trump. This same press hammered Mitt Romney when he was running against Obama. They made him seem like a criminal. Now he is their darling if for just a season.
Any Republican who goes on these news channels and gets destroyed deserves it. And that includes Fox News. Chris Wallace, Juan Williams and several others hate Trump and any one who supports or defends them. So just stay away and do something constructive and arguing with biased news people is not constructive
I just heard Lindsay Graham say he recommended John Bolton to President Trump. Trump hired Bolton after Graham lobbied for Bolton's hiring. Trump's instinct was to be cautious but he was also trying to be inclusive. I keep thinking in the back of my mind that Lindsay Graham was the best of friends to the biggest Never Trumper of all, John McCain. Lindsay was a critic of Trump until McCain died then he became all buddy, buddy. If I am Trump I keep an eye on Graham from this point forward.
I always wondered what Trump was thinking bringing the war monger, swamp dweller into the inner circle of the administration. Thanks a lot Graham. Your boy put the screws to Trump and the American people from the first day. He is as dangerous as a cotton mouth. In his second term, Trump will have this experience and should keep his distance from Never Trumpers and not bring any of them into the administration. Lesson learned
I also look for Trump to clean house in the Justice and State Department. That is where the real swamp is.

Yeah the swamp consists of demosocialcommunists and RINO's. Some you can see easily, others you have to wait until the pressure is really on and then see how they react. They will tell you who they are, sometimes it just takes a little more time and observation...

BTW: Lindsey, McConnell, Cruz, Romney, Rubio and other GOP Senators and others warned everyone what kind of person Trump was and is long before the election. In those cases, which you know, there were lengthy independent investigations that actually uncovered crimes. Investigations that took years.
None of that occurred here, the investigation was led by the Democrats, it took all of 2.5 months, and not a single crime was found.

I tend to agree. For all Trump has done for West Virginia to think their Senator would vote to kick him out of office is difficult to believe. The Senator from Alabama is toast so he might just go ahead and do it. I don't even know who the lady senator is.

False. That used to be the case until Pelosi bastardized the whole process. Trump did not break the law, but got impeached. "Abuse of power" can be interpreted in a thousand different ways, which is why such terms were rejected by the founders. Every president from Washington to Trump could be guilty of "abuse of power" depending on what definition you prescribe to it.
And Trump's impeachment is clearly an attempt to overturn an election because the Dems started vowing to do it before the election was even final.
