Koch and the different foundations that he supported (funded w. a lot of money) were consistently anti-union, were against environmental regulations of any sort, anti global warming, were against gun control laws, fought entitlement programs/public assistance, wanted lower taxes. For a long time they fought against illegal immigration, but in recent years somewhat reversed on that. Most of the things I listed aren't what you would call a liberal agenda.

I'm not concerned about what the stock market does a day, a week, a month from now. I'll be in the work force at least another 15 years, so my 401(k) won't be tapped any time soon. I have confidence in the long-term resilience of our economy and the world economy. Dow Jones is up like 40% since Trump was elected, even accounting for today's loss. It’s much, much cheaper to bribe a few guys in Washington to get your way than it is to find people to bribe in 50 states.

Americans have to be willing to stomach this for awhile because Trump is doing the right thing in putting China's balls to the wall right now.
