I read a pretty good article about this today. I don’t think video games has much to do with it. Studies indicate this also. South Korea and Japan buy the crap about of these games and have virtually no shootings. The guy in the article thought it was more hiding out on their computers all day, talking to no one and getting into all the social media, internet day after day with the lies and the hate. That can be pretty depressing. Hell I get on this site (and others) and it can start to piss you off (disclaimer: Not going to do anything violent). Do that for hours at a time, day after day, and I can see how people might snap. Wish I could remember where I saw that because it was pretty good

This is anecdotal perhaps but, along those lines, a cousin of mine who moved back in with his mother (my aunt) about 10 years ago after losing his job and wife left him was living in her basement and playing these violent games. Was not long after in an argument with her shot her in the face twice killing her. It was said by his brother that he played these games constantly and was getting increasingly angry. He was an even keeled guy growing up and we hung out a lot since we were a few months apart in age. No one showed at his trial nor have visited him in prison.
“An idle mind is the devils workshop”, young men need a purpose. Most young men find it in school, work, sport or women.
I don’t know it, but I’d bet most, if not all of these shooters were not involved in any of what I listed.
But don't you think the job loss, marriage failing, moving home, feeling like a loser was the base of the anger.
Freedom of speech actually. It is free by design however, it is you on the left who are trying to destroy it with PC. Your ignorance or agreement to this is a part of all of the problems we see today.

In part, but to ignore the fact that living in the basement and continuously playing those games had nothing to do with it is ignorant and short sighted otherwise, he probably would have gone off before. These games desensitize people to killing imo.

But millions play those games. The games may push some people but there has to be something else going on.
There has been an increase in anger across the country even though we are living better today then we ever have and it did not start when Trump got in to office (before you try to lie here). Not saying it is the only problem but, it does not help either. If so called hate speech, body shaming, opposing views, and all of these other social crimes are infuriating/affecting people so easily why would not these games.
White supremacy is just this week's talking point. Next week it'll be something else. It never ends with these guys. They march in lockstep to the flavor of the day. You might as well talk to a wall.
Show me instances where this PC culture/ hate speech put people in jail. You implied we have always had complete freedom of speech when this clearly isn’t the case
Studies show exposure to in-person violence, in particular within the family, is a much greater indicator. Not much evidence out there that indicates there is a direct cause w video games and violence

The political labeling that goes on after these senseless killings is disgusting. On both sides.

I’ve played hundreds of hours of Call of Duty and have never had an urge to even pick up a real gun, let alone mow people down.

I have never shot a 410, thinking about getting a 28 gauge for bird hunting simply for lightness.
We used a 410 to hunt partridge. Not as effective as a 12 gauge but more challenging.
