POLITICAL THREAD

How will they rule ??!

  • YES - Qualified

  • NO - Disqualified

    Votes: 9 18.0%

  • Total voters
    50
  • Poll closed .
Then Gabbard should do at least one of two things (preferably both)

1. Give the classic politician answer and articulate that subject is far too complex for a 2 minute sound bite. Provide a place where people can go to see her entire point of view on the subject. Pin it to the top of her Twitter or something

2. If she is going to run for president and go on these shows, she knows this is going to be asked. What she needs to do is take the complicated subject matter and find a simplistic way of being able to answer it in a 2-3 minute segment.

Ideally she does both, gives a simplistic answer then says it is a very complex situation, I have a full breakdown on the subject on my Twitter.

All of that is a lot better than, "yes I want to provide context....but this sure sounds like a Kamala talking point."It was a really bad deflect on her side.

Fair, not the best answer or choice of media... But it's still a much different and less bad than the kamala criticism.

California is showing once again how stupid they are. The U.S. Constitution sets the guidelines for a Presidential election. So Trumps name will be on the California ballot in the November 2020 election. The court will instruct them to do that if they balk.

No one running for President is required to show tax returns. That is a stunt some politician dreamed up. It is not law. And why should it be? Who cares how much a candidate is worth. If the IRS accepted the return why should it concern us.

I read it as they were keeping him off the ballot for the Primary Elections. Will there even be a republican primary if Trump is unopposed?

"Mitch McConnell's net worth:

2005: $2,962,015
2015: $26,927,535
Increase: $23,965,520 (+809.1%)

How does a senator earning $193,400 a year increase their net worth by nearly $2.4 million a year, every year for a decade? Via @akkitwts"
As I wrote earlier, Chao inherited a ton of $.

Ya I agree that MSNBC treats Kamala with kid gloves. I think my push back on this is, that's nothing new. So I don't get this outcry (not saying by you) of this is propoganda and all that jazz. You can go back as far as you'd like with media and you can see an obvious bias towards one candidate over anther.

I just think Gabbard handled this very poorly. "yes I want to provide context....but" deflect and deflect. Exact same thing Kamala did the other night.

In my opinion, Tulsi has now stepped up to the national stage, and after the debate, there are far more people interested in her that may not know much about her history, which is a good thing.
I understand that she has been asked the question before. However, I feel it is a fair question to ask for her "new" audience.
I hope the media will not latch onto that single issue and beat it to death.
But in truth, we all know how that works.

If I'm not mistaken, this is just for the primaries. I believe I read that for the primaries the states can set their own requirements, but for the general election, that has to follow federal law.

So this has absolutely 0 effect on anything in the grand scheme of things. This is just Newsom trying to add another progressive notch in his belt for his 2024 presidential run.

Yup agreed 100%. That was exactly what I was thinking when she was deflecting and saying "I have been asked this over and over again." All I was thinking was, ya that was when you were a no named congresswoman from Hawaii, you are now running for president and this is the first time many people have heard about you, of course you're going to get asked this.

Also if she makes it to the next debate, she damn well better be prepared for Kamala to come at her hard on her past with the gay community. She used to brag about working for her father's anti gay organization which was pro conversion therapy for gays. I have rarely seen her pressed hard on this issue, the only few times Ive seen people bring this up her go to response is, "Ive grown and learned a lot from those days." You know for a fact after the last debate, Kamala won't let that answer be good enough.

California being California and their attempt to continue to be a one party state. What has happened to that beautiful state is tragic

Told 4 minority women to go back to their country. Yea not racist and xenophobic at all. Of course besides that fact that Trump is to stupid to know that 3 of the 4 were born in the US. So he really just shit on himself since he told them to fix their shithole countries, aka the USA, the country he runs. If you want to pretend he hasn't doubled and tripled on what is very calculated race baiting then thats your prerogative. He heavily miscallculated on this move

BOOM!

I wont lie, I dont know the ins and outs of all the crap happening over there. Just like I dont know the ins and outs of all the accusations she presented against Kamala, I dont know how much of that was spin and half truths and how much was 100% true.

I thought Kamala handled it horribly because she seemed afraid to touch upon the subject and just attacked Tulsi instead, which usually is a horrible look (and it was). Im just stating that Tulsi did the same thing on MSNBC. Instead of answering the question (Which she should've been prepared to get) she attacked the host instead. The host repeated the question multiple times and Tulsi continued to deflect and attack instead. Again a horrible look.

Tell me about it. Its hard to see the demise of it by living in it everyday. But damn living in Denver for 3-4 years then coming back, I really saw how quickly it is falling apart. Its sad because it is a hell of a place to live. Only place I know where I could surf and enjoy the beach in the morning, gamble in the evening and be drunk making snow angels with no shirt on by the end of the night.

My fist cousin moved out there in the early 1970's and soon his brother and family came and then his parents retired out there. He moved to Huntington Beach and started a business, His brother moved to Anaheim. Parents to the beach. Crime became common so his parents moved out to Corona. They settled in a nice neighborhood and all was well. But the he stayed on the beach and it was pure hell trying to run a business. Crime, drugs, homeless and high taxes. One son was an ultra liberal and the other a conservative. After their parents died the conservative son sold his business and his home. The home was 2,500 square feet and he sold it for $1.2 million. It had cost him about $300,000. He took the money and moved to a ranch in Mississippi. His quality of life is off of the charts now. He likes to gamble so he has the casinos on the Gulf and Mississippi River to play his games.

The brother that stayed has had two daughters get deep into drugs and beaten half to death by their drug dealers and pimps. Their life is pure hell and he curses the day he left South Carolina for California. But South Carolina was too conservative for his tastes and now he is in hell. . Over the past 50 years I visited often and the change is remarkable to me. I had to work out there for 6 months after the LA riots and another 6 months after the LA earthquake. I thought I was in a foreign country and I have never seen so much hate as I saw in Los Angeles.

Sawnee how is the governor doing down in Florida ,
As you might know he ran in a tight race against an Obama socialist. Since he has been governor his popularity is soaring and the state is doing well. People are very pleased. With the exception of hard core Democrats who are against everything. But they are far outnumbered.

The economy down here is great. And taxes are low with no state income tax.

Cali is pretty weird, because you can have really safe cities right next to brutal places when it comes to crime. I grew up in the Monterey area which is known for its beaches, retired rich people and the golf courses. But my high school was in Castroville which is a tiny town that is so poor and gang riddled its ridiculous. The mall, movie theater, bowling alley (pretty much all the places for high school kids to hang out) and my girlfriend were all in Salinas (5 minute drive from the high school). Salinas is constantly in the top 20 highest murder rates in the country. Also right next to the school there was a really brutal murder at our Taco Bell of a kid that went to my high school and it was all over America's Most Wanted and stuff.

Growing up in the middle of it, you kind of just get used to it. You know what places you shouldnt ever go and when you shouldnt be at certain places. In my 4 years of high school we had 5 people in my graduating class get killed. Multiple people from my class are in jail for murder (all gang related).

But with all that said, Cali definitely has a crime problem all throughout the coast. It has a major homeless and trash problem at the moment. Its getting really bad the last few years it seems because the politicians just dont want to deal with the issues. They just keep saying that they need more tax dollars to fix the solution but it will continue to just get worse and worse. Im tired of it (even though I love it here) and Ill be out of here in the next 6-7 months.

Kamala is going to be the nominee IMO. Its obvious to anyone not blind that she is who the media is pushing.

They pushed for Biden and Beto at first but its clear those days are over.

I think they want Kamala cause she can say to Trump "You're racist and sexist" over and over against him. She'll just be played up as the female Obama.
VP

When watching that clip the first time I was too in awe to notice this. CNN are most definitely fake news activists.

Yup. Its really obvious too because the chyron is the original one for the first 2 minutes. Then

Don: "Any concern the president used this meeting with black leaders to insulate himself from those concerns"

Guest: "I dont think so, I have been to the White House 4 times over the last 5 months, so no."

CNN Producers (probably): Don change the subject he isn't biting on the Trump is racist angle, go after his credibility instead.

Don: "You have said some very controversial stuff in the past, you compared same sex marriage to sex with a minor"

CNN Producers: Perfect Don. Hey guys lets get a new chyron up to make sure everyone knows how bad this guest is and all the stuff he has said about
Trump is coming from a horrible man.

You gotta love CNN.
