It’s stupid as hell to me because it’s obvious we’re in America. Flying an American flag outside of your home in America leads me to believe you have....”interesting” ideals.
And you pussies who get all indignant about what our flag “stands for” can kiss my ass. LMAO!!! Always bringing up the damn military like a bunch of moronic hillbillies. Peace to everyone who’s served in the armed forces, but our flag isn’t a military thing. Neither is our national anthem. Or the pledge.

I’ve got a Canadian and American flag flying this weekend. I don’t see either as being indicative of any oddball sort of patriotism. My grandfather served in WW2 and I am proud to be Canadian and I also recognize that America has always been there on our side (1812 notwithstanding.)

Because they treat their flags as beloved, domesticated, commercialized and sacralized objects. But considering you've probably never been out of the states you wouldnt know, but they all but participate in flag worship there.
Of course the flag wasnt started bc of the military, but maybe you can teach yourself a history lesson of why its perception changed. And most of it had to do with the civil war...in fact that's when it became mass produced as a symbol against secessionism and even worn as clothes. Prior to this the flag wasnt really seen outside of state property, territory claims, or military outposts. Then however through time, the flag stood to represent the US culture and the US place in the world.
