Well you're kind of stupid aren't you? When Obama took office the great recession of 2008 had already begun and the dow had sunk to 6000. It was up to 19,700 when he left office. The record speaks for itself and you are either real stupid, ignorant as heck but probably both.
The market reached as high as 14000 under Bush so it was obvious it was going to bounce back but that's not my point.

I want to ask you what you think was the main cause of the economic collapse? I personally think, and most experts agree, that banks took advantage of lax loan regulations that led to defaults on mortgages. Would you agree?

When Obama took office the Dow Jones was 7900, on his Election Day it was 9000.
On Trumps Election Day it was 18332, and 19700 on his inauguration.
Almost 20% of the markets gain under Obama was due to Trumps election. The market gained as much in 2 months as it had in the prior 2 years.

Furthermore, the market reached 14000 under Bush, so most of Obama’s market “growth” wasn’t actual growth, but simply recovering lost market. So 33% of actual market growth Uber Obama was after Trumps election.

Since it only applies to "whitey" I guess we will never really know.
While other groups have definitely been discriminated against in our history...we essentially imprisoned 120,000 Japanese Americans during WWII for nothing other than being Japanese but strangely 0 German or Italian Americans...I wonder why? We never had separate entrances, schools, bathrooms or drinking fountains for Asians or Hispanics. Never had laws specifically aimed at one race other than blacks.

You also seem to forget that white women also have benefited from affirmative action.

Thanks in large measure to affirmative action and civil rights protections that opened up previously restricted opportunities to women of all colors, from 1972–1993:

– The percentage of women architects increased from 3% to nearly 19% of the total;

– The percentage of women doctors more than doubled from 10% to 22% of all doctors;

– The percentage of women lawyers grew from 4% to 23% of the national total;

– The percentage of female engineers went from less than 1% to nearly 9%;

– The percentage of female chemists grew from 10% to 30% of all chemists; and,

– The percentage of female college faculty went from 28% to 42% of all faculty. (Moseley-Braun 1995, 8)

Furthermore, since only 1983, the percentage of women business managers and professionals grew from 41% of all such persons, to 48%, while the number of female police officers more than doubled, from 6% to 13% (U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census 1995, Table 649). According to a 1995 study, there are at least six million women — the overwhelming majority of them white — who simply wouldn't have the jobs they have today, but for the inroads made by affirmative action (Cose 1997, 171)

Dude, what you think of me could not be more meaningless.

Dayum.

Nice post.

Germans were interred during WWI.

You should research Nihau as to why the Govt interred first generation Japanese.

This is an interesting post (I'm taking it at face value and assuming the quoted stats are accurate. While certainly some of this can be attributed to AA, the fact that the family unit has changed so much over the last 50 years has also been a big influence. For the longest time, the role of a woman was to be a wife/mother and stay home while the man of the house provided for them. That is obviously not the case anymore (except maybe in Utah.) Add to this the rising costs of living and the desire to keep up with the Joneses, and many couples both work out of pure necessity. I will say that the particular fields you quoted show very impressive increases.

That is just not true. Were whites subjected to slavery, Jim Crow, discriminatory housing, etc? Do you deny that happened?.
Ever heard of indentured servitude? Ever heard of Jews, Irish. Italians being denied housing & jobs? Ever heard of poor whites not being able to vote due to poll taxes? Ever heard of women not having the vote? Guess not.

Sure, escaping poverty is difficult for anyone, regardless of race. But it was much more difficult when an entire system was geared towards keeping you in poverty..
Just what the Dems' Great Society did. Broke up poor, mainly black families by denying benefits if husband in home & working.

But there is plenty of generational poverty among whites as well. Children brought up in that situation are highly likely to continue those traditions.

I believe everyone has the same chance to be successful (barring some sort of legitimate mental or physical handicap.) I said this many times leading up to the election and it has only gotten more true. If you're an able bodied/able minded adult and are not successful, it's because you choose not to be - regardless of race/gender/etc.
I know you don't realize it but you are making the case for affirmative action.

So if someone, or someone's family and ancestors were kept in poverty, not because of their abilities but because they were prevented from pursuing avenues of opportunity, were prevented by law from entering the best schools and subjugated it inferior wages...what were their chances of escaping generational that poverty?

The true question is when the practice should end. The concept of affirmative action began in 1961 by JFK and expanded by LBJ, Nixon and Carter. It has since been abolished at least to some degree in 8 states. My guess is that in the next 10-20 years it will end everywhere.

So now white people as a whole need to pay for the sins of the "progressive" left locking up Japanese people?

There were about 11,000 Germans interned...nearly all were German nationals, not American citizens.

Ok, but German/Americans were clearly interred.

Race had nothing to do with the Japanese being interred.
What happened in Nihau right after Pearl Harbor did.
The very first Japanese/American that came in contact with Japanese pilot shot down helped them. Actually killing a US citizen.

I’m not saying it was the right thing to do, but we were in a war where the outcome wasn’t certain.

Fake News.

Please do search because I specifically said that I would limit the amount you could pass down to your kids...$5-$10 million and beyond that you could designate where the other money went.

Look at air traffic control to see how horribly dumb diversity hiring or hiring for the sake of diversity is. If you suck at science and are unemployed and have zero experience then you're hired over someone who's good at science and is employed and has past experience.

https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/...troller-diversity-ahead-of-safety-lawyer-says

Obama-era FAA hiring rules placed air traffic controller diversity ahead of safety, lawyer says

For decades, the selection process for the Federal Aviation Administration’s air traffic controllers was rigorous. After all, one minor mistake could cost hundreds of people their lives.

But a new report revealed the Obama administration modified the FAA’s candidate selection process to value workplace diversity over competency, experience and skills.

Due to changes implemented during the Obama administration, air traffic controller candidates are now required to complete a “biographical questionnaire” before even being considered for a job with the FAA.

If they don’t pass, they aren’t considered for a position — no matter how much experience they have or how qualified they are.

A copy of the questionnaire and how it is scored. Candidates whose worst subject in high school was science and candidates who are unemployed receive the most points possible on the test. In contrast, licensed pilots and those with extensive air traffic control knowledge aren’t highly scored.

An FAA spokesperson said he was unsure of why the FAA screens candidates for diversity over competency. Unsurprisingly, the FAA never offered an explanation.

Michael Pearson, an attorney representing a man suing the FAA over its diversity test, said the test is intentionally designed to “weed out” experienced candidates, especially those with an aviation background.

So why would the FAA make the changes? Pearson’s answer suggests the reason is just as egregious as the changes.

“A group within the FAA, including the human resources function within the FAA, including the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees, determined that the workforce was too white. They had a concerted effort through the Department of Transportation in the Obama administration to change that,” Pearson said.

Pearson likened the situation to the Department of Veteran Affairs hiring physicians who didn’t graduate from medical school for their hospitals and claiming the VA can train them better.

I missed all of that and I'm not searching through this cesspool to find it. How about the Cliff's notes version of why you want to limit the amount of my hard earned money that I can pass down to my kids???

Actually, we already paid reparations to the survivors of those that were locked up. Whether it was enough is a debate, though.

If you did some research or read a book or two, you would’ve already known that.

So when you think of the US Govt you automatically think it’s white people?
Who is the racist ?

Well then why did you halfwit morons bring it up?

Here’s a great question, though. For all you kind hearted Republicans: are you upset we paid reparations to Japanese Americans? Should we have not done that?

Not to mention, I don’t think I called you guys racist, recently at least.

Must have struck a nerve.

Calling someone a racist used to be a pretty serious affair. To some of us it still is, unfortunately you guys throw it around so lackadaisically now you’ve neutered it.

Smart? Went to college for aviation? Former pilot? Military background? But you're white and passed science in high school? Job's not for you.

Dumb as heck? Don't know crap about aviation? Haven't been employed for the past 3 years? But you're not white and you played sports in high school? You're hired.

The Disastrous Initiative to Hire Air Traffic Controllers Based on Diversity, Not Talent

My column, titled “Diversity and Inclusion Harm,” focused on the dumbing down of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics curricula to achieve a more pleasing mixture of participants in terms of race and sex.

Heather Mac Donald, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, wrote about this in her article titled “How Identity Politics Is Harming the Sciences.” Mac Donald quoted a UCLA scientist who said, “All across the country the big question now in STEM is: how can we promote more women and minorities by ‘changing’ (i.e., lowering) the requirements we had previously set for graduate level study?”

The National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health are two federal agencies that fund university research, are consumed by diversity and inclusion ideology, and have the power to yank funds from a college if it has not supported a sufficient number of “underrepresented minorities.”

In recent years, the Federal Aviation Administration has also become consumed by diversity and inclusion. Prior to becoming so, the FAA worked with about 36 colleges to create the Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative. The colleges offered two- and four-year nonengineering aviation degrees requiring basic courses in air traffic control and aviation administration. Graduates of these programs became qualified candidates for training as air traffic control specialists. The FAA gave hiring preferences to veterans, those with AT-CTI program degrees, references from administrators, and high test scores.

When President Barack Obama-appointed FAA Administrator Michael Huerta, he deemed that these hiring standards had not produced a pleasing mix of air traffic controllers when it came to race and sex. He announced plans to “transform the [FAA] into a more diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects, understands, and relates to the diverse customers” it serves.

The FAA discarded its longtime use of the difficult cognitive assessment test and implemented instead a new, unmonitored take-home personality test—a biographical questionnaire. Among the questions asked are: “The number of high school sports I participated in was … ” “How would you describe your ideal job?” “What has been the major cause of your failures?” “More classmates would remember me as humble or dominant?”

In other words, the FAA opened air traffic control training to “off-the-street hires”—any English-speaking citizen with a high school diploma.

All air traffic control applicants are required to complete the biographical questionnaire. Those who “pass” are deemed eligible. The questionnaire gives more points to an applicant who answers that he has not been employed in the previous three years than it does to an applicant who answers that he has been a pilot or is a veteran with an air traffic control-related military background.

Michael Pearson, an air traffic controller for 27 years who is suing the FAA, said, “A group within the FAA, including the human resources function within the FAA—the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees—determined that the workforce was too white.”

All Americans should hope that the Mountain States Legal Foundation suit is successful in preventing the FAA from using race and sex as criteria for hiring. Passengers’ lives, regardless of sex and race, depend upon there being proficient air traffic controllers.

Even if the answer was yes, that only applies to the people who the government actually imposed an illegal action on. No one, even someone who would be in favor of reparations of those Japanese Americans put in internment camps, would say everyone related to (or even looks like) said people are entitled to anything.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m not like you.

You’re right about that, I’m not a race baiting prick.
You don’t realize it, or maybe you do, but you’re strengthening actual racists by calling everyone you disagree with racist.

You know why nothing can get done to help prevent the shootings in Chicago? Because only one party can bring ideas. If Republicans or Trump bring up ideas they get drowned out with racist accusations. So people continue to die.
