I haven't mentioned religion in this thread, but I think you make a valid point. And I'd say religion and sexuality are treated similarly.

Like I exhausted the topic about whether it's a choice. And I never get an answer.

If it is a choice, and if you firmly believe that. At what point did you choose to be straight?

There are millions of species that engage in gay sex. It is overwhelming the comparison. Then someone always throws "Well, the red eared deer meets it's mate for life" Shut up. Just shut up.

I love when people point to animals and say they interact in gay sex so that proves it is a natural thing. Dogs eat shit...does that mean its natural and everyone should do it? Animals also fight, sometimes to the death to mate? Drink urine?

I don't care either way on who gets married, but I hate people comparing animal behavior to justify whay people should be allowed to do it.

Any word on if researchers have found the straight gene yet?

It's probably the one that relates to this:

Yep.

Other examples from The World Of Nature include:

---some that eat their young
---some eat each other
---males are destroyed by females during mating
---a lot of inbreeding
---if you're a badass, you get to bang a whole group of gals for quite a while... until a bigger badass arrives and kicks you to the curb

I guess humans are different, thankfully.

Let me know when the animal that just got BOFO'd starts sitting by the phone-- wondering "why doesn't he call me?"

I'll assume your non-answer means no.

Ass-ume all you want...

I just tried to keep it simple for you. In other words, you wouldn't be here to ask your question... without whatever would be considered the "straight" gene keeping humans on the planet for all these years.

Maybe you are, somehow, the product of 2 dudes going at it?

So you answer the question with a cute drawing and an insult. Brilliant!

Man is not the same as the other species IMO.

But let's assume we are, can we marry monkeys? Our DNA is so close.... DWS.

Wkycat. We are a species of animal with the highest level of executive functioning. Monkeys have executive function. They can use abstract thinking such as logic and basic math applications such as Algebra. We are not monkeys. Total different species. We have 60% the same DNA as a grain of rice. No, we're not the same species, but there was a split from a common ancestor. Nevermind I can see where this is going.

I know religious people hate science, so I know this comment from the National Genome Project is probably Satan hiding in disguise to mislead us all, but FWIW

"On average, the protein-coding regions of the mouse and human genomes are 85 percent identical; some genes are 99 percent identical while others are only 60 percent identical. These regions are evolutionarily conserved because they are required for function. In contrast, the non-coding regions are much less similar (only 50 percent or less). Therefore, when one compares the same DNA region from human and mouse, the functional elements clearly stand out because of their greater similarity. Scientists have developed computer software that automatically aligns human and mouse sequences making the protein-coding and regulatory regions obvious."

I know religious people hate science"

Not at all. I hate when at attempt is made to use 'science' to 'prove' there is no God. That everything must have happened and evolved on it's own. Of course nobody can or has repeatedly tested or observed these things anyway. They are theories. 'Settled science'. The commonalities you point to above, seem to point to a common creator IMO, rather than a common ancestor.

I submit to you that the brain you are using to think, reason, and participate in this thread could not have happened without a God.

But of course, this is a political thread, which took a sidebar into the politics of gay marriage, which then took a sidebar into, 'why can't we marry this or that? What's the difference?'

But I digress.

That's why I'll leave it that. I disagree 100% that there is proof of a creator. I agree 100% with evolution and theories like Transpermia and Panspermia. Until the religious can come up with a better attempt to prove a claim that they originally came up with, I'll wait, but 'm not holding my breath.

That's all a disingenuous question deserves.
Someone else stated there is no gay gene, so I think it's fair to ask if they have identified the straight gene yet. If you don't know the answer then you shouldn't have volunteered one. I might know I'd get a response from the shallow end of the pool.

I just briefly read about some of the chemicals (bpa and stuff) we ingest in modern times and I'm convinced they're turning us all gay. A lot of them are like synthetic estrogen. Wtf how's this happen? I blame Oprah for a lot of stuff, but I would have never guessed this. V

That shit is scary to me. Going to stop reading and start drinking more.

Well it's good to know if you work for the Federal government (other than the royalty) the Chinese now have every bit of your personal information.

I merely suggested the obvious connection between a "straight" gene and procreation. There sure seems like there's a whole lot of engineering with what parts do what, where they fit, and what may come of that union. Don't blame me just because you can't grasp the basics. If you know of a way that same-sex interactions can spread the genetic code and further evolution... let's hear your answers!

BTW, sometimes, there are Hot Moms at the shallow end, watching over the kiddies... not that you'd be interested. It seems you don't even want to contribute at all... just hanging around in the shower room with the guys that like to trade DNA.

In other news, McDonalds ain't healthy.

Shit will hit the fan with this internet stuff. I am certain. You could argue it already has in terms of how it's changed society.

A gay/bi man can get a woman pregnant just like a straight man can, so you're FOS on the first one.

And as for the second, have you considered your homophobic attitude is masking latent homosexuality?

Awwww... how typical. When you have no answers you throw out the "___ Card" as fast as you can.

1) You: "Where's the forest? Maybe it's on the other side of those trees?"

2) Sounds like wishful thinking on your part.

Hold on a second. Why don't you just admit you like men on a subconscious level? Your previous words make it appear likely, and your screen name seems to confirm it, as it certainly sounds feminine - Dezy sure comes across like a girls name to me.....when you chose it you surely had a subliminal message in mind.

Listen, when you watch porn do you focus on the guy, and does that bother you - that is, if you even check out straight porn? Your apparent love of theater and your choice of a Blue Man Group member as you avatar is curious as well - no shortage of rumors about those New York based Off-Broadway rooted performers sexuality. Do they hide behind their paint the way you hide behind your Homophobic words?

I am not a Bible thumper, but for those that firmly believe that humans evolved from apes, then why are there still apes? Why didn't all apes develop into humans. It is also a stretch for me to think that a God created everything on earth. I have my own beliefs, but will leave that for now.

It's okay. I get it. You're lonely. It happens. I'm sure he'll come back to you at some point... if for no other reason than to retrieve his Magic Mike DVD.

Oh my god. I didn't think you belonged in that camp.

Is this an honest question? Or are you trolling? If it's an honest question, do you mind me asking your educational background (meaning: public vs private secondary school in rural or urban setting, in what decade, and if you went to college, what major)

Man never evolved from ape. That's not how the split happened. You can't evolve from an ape to a man. That is impossible. There was some new research that found once evolution causes changes it can't be reversed. So think about it this way KyFanin. There was a common ancestor. Something stressed the enviro to change that ancestor. Because of that stress to the enviro that common ancestor evolved into 3 different species. Apes, Monkeys, and humans. 3 different species from a common original species. None are the same.

Maybe god invented this all, maybe he didn't. My best answer is I don't know. Science isn't out to "get" Christians. It's out to explain the whats, whys, hows, and whens of the world. If Christians don't like that, tough shit. It's going to happen anyway. No stopping research.

Dems and Repubs working together again. Bringing us another dandy NAFTA/Patriot Act like policy.

Add TPP to that list. No one is talking about it but people will soon. Oh will they be talking about.

Here's a comment that I found that:

"If it passes, it's only a matter of time before insurance companies, for profit hospitals, and big pharma collude to sue the U.S. government claiming that medicare is marginalizing their potential profits. And then the government will concede and privatize medicare.

Good luck old and desitute people. Better fight hard against this"

What's with all these recent stories about brave people choosing to give up how they look on the outside to become who they truly are on the inside?

Bruce Jenner first.

Now we have this formerly white lady who decided she wanted to be black and run a chapter of the NAACP.

Brave people, let me tell ya. She should be viewed as a hero, right?

Willy, I don't understand why in the hell this isn't being debated more too. We've got legislation thats going to give the president more power, can't be ammended, or debated, only needs 50% approval instead of 2/3 like treaties are required to have, and it's apparently in a top secret room in the capital where only certain people can view it. Yea, there's nothing shady about this whole deal.

My biggest problems with evolution is:

1) It really isnt an answer at all, despite what we're taught. Its still just a guess/theory. There are tons of holes that noone can explain, and they get glossed over in the rush to declare a theory a law.

2) Its often used as an origin explanation, which is also wrong. Ok lets assume the ridiculous "primordial ooze" theory is correct. Then were did the primordial ooze come from?

In the rush to declare evolution as the end all explanation, people ignore these problems with the theory. We know evolution happens, and science can prove many examples. But with humans and our origins, there's just too much we dont know. Why is science, in general, afraid to admit that?

Most transparent administration ever huh. Remember when he promised to post all legislation online for everyone to see and comment on? Those were the days.

My biggest problem with evolution is the left loves to bring it up, but they're firmly anti-evolution.

Stringing the fat lazy weak people in society along with my tax dollars while supporting each and every one of their fat mountain dew mouth babies is as anti-evolution as you can get.

My scientific theory (completely pulled out of my ass) is that given enough time we will devolve back into figurative apes. Basically, a version of the plot from the documentary Idiocracy.

Every single Republican that supports the TPP or any of the related bills needs to be removed from office.

That's obviously never going to happen because it's blatantly, pathetically obvious they're all on the Chamber of Commerce's payroll.

I'm all for free trade in theory. But, when the status quo is an incredibly weak US economy, a decimated manufacturing sector, and an incredibly strong dollar, the last thing I want to do is implement new ploicy that makes it easier for US companies to outsource goods and services.

Couple that with all the other secret provisions that are likely slipped in the bill, and you have one of the worst goddam pieces of legislation to come up in a long time.

Mitch McConnell though. Thank god Alison Grimes isn't in office. We might still have Obamacare, no new Brent Spence Bridge, a new version of the Patriot Act, people pushing to grant Obama new powers and easy approval on his bullshit agreements, nothing good for KY etc. Oh, wait.
