Remember, I am the person who suggested that tax rates should be tied directly to spending. The more you want to spend, the more you must be willing to raise taxes. Likewise, if you want to cut taxes, you must cut spending. It's easy to spend when there is no responsibility or pain associated.

You "suggest" things when talking in generalities but if the GOP put a bill like you mention above you would be leading the granny-over-cliff brigade. Again, Obama's own commission recommended 4/1 cuts to tax increases but when he won in 2012 he demanded no spending cuts be added to his tax increase. Boehner offered 1/1. You, dee, blueboy and others were reminded of this and you whored out as usual.

They've already given mandatory evacuations up where I'm at in Jacksonville. Luckily I'm far away enough from the ocean that my area wasn't one of them. Thought about taking off just to be on they safe side, but have decided to ride it out.

I said it a year ago. Had the Dem's choose almost any other candidate than HRC, they would have beaten Trump. She had her supporters, no doubt. But most of those that supported her would vote Dem regardless of who was running. She had very little appeal to moderates & Libertarians, AND there was so much disdain for her that she was going to bring out many (who may not typically vote) to go and vote (for her opponent).

The book is showing her utter arrogance toward the voting public, and inability to be accountable and accept any blame. We are all "too dumb" to vote for her (is what she is saying).

I did not vote for either HRC or Trump, as I saw both to be horrible choices. So I left that one blank & voted for other offices.

Spot on, Dems absolutely f'ed up basically giving her the nod. Clinton was the perfect candidate for Trump. Which is why he never even considered trying to go up against Obama.

Fact is, Trump has alot of the same issues as Clinton. He blames everyone else, hides his tax returns and shady deals, disliked by the public, and thinks he's smarter than everyone else. He just wasn't Clinton, who we've seen in government for decades. And she didn't go to places like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, thinking she had it in the bag because of unions.

Had she won, she would have been a one term President, which is what I believe is the same fate for Trump, unless the Dems manage to pick a candidate like Clinton...which is entirely possible given their history.

Bernie would have landslided Trump. No doubt in my mind.
