I had two main issues- 1) Get immigration under control, hinder the illegals then tackle Muslim refugee BS. 2) Keep the Clintons out of office.

That was my main list right there.

I'm a bit different.

1. Preserve the second amendment. Without it immigration and everything else goes to shit.

2. Preserve the Supreme Court. Immigration would probably fall here.

It's ironic to me that hot button issues like the 2A and abortion rights drive so much in terms of how people vote when neither are remotely likely to change in our lifetimes.

We will always be able to have guns and abortion will always be legal.

My concerns are generally around education and healthcare. Jury is still out on both.

Shit. Forgot to mentionthe second amendment on my list. I knew that was the main reason for the Supreme Court spot being a must.

Just couldn't recall it earlier today in a quick post.

I agree.

Not sure how healthcare would ever work for 300 million people. I propose a Fat Tax. Any food that makes ya fat like sugar and Golden Corral gets taxed heavily. Can still pay doctors high wages and health insurance would be good.

Education. Man forget that shit. Education doesn't work when you have shitty parents.

I agree that education starts in the home, but many other countries are doing it better than we are - would like to close that gap.

Heathcare is a bitch - who'd have thought it could be so complicated, right? It's my industry and it's a disaster right now, and it was a disaster before the ACA. Inefficiency runs rampant and the payers and providers just keep getting fatter. We need to be making the move to a consumer model where competition breeds cost savings. Right now it's a free for all.

The ACA attempted to solve the access problem with little regard for solving the cost problem. Need to solve cost, then access. Giving people access to cost prohibitive care is fruitless.

I've been reading about having co-op's and it seems like a great idea that will actually work.

Basically children and adults pay a small monthly fee and become a member of a doctors office. Each doctor at office has say 500 members. Can see dr as much as you want. Dr also is the pharmacist and sells medicine at wholesale costs. Dr can negotiate with pharm companies and get meds at cheaper rate.

Patient would take an actual insurance policy out for serious issues. Ya know, what insurance is spose to be. I really think this could work. It's successful on a small scale and I don't see why it couldn't be on a large scale.

Education in other countries? Like what countries you talking about?

I'm in healthcare too. I bet if you cut obesity by 75%. Insurance companies would pay you.

The U.S. ranks 14th in education

According to Pearson, the United States has a “cognitive skills and educational attainment” score of 0.39, which makes the United States rank fourteenth out of forty countries ranked in that category. The top ten countries (and their scores) are:

  1. South Korea (1.30)
  2. Japan (1.03)
  3. Singapore (0.99)
  4. Hong Kong (0.96)
  5. Finland (0.92)
  6. United Kingdom (0.67)
  7. Canada (0.60)
  8. Netherlands (0.58)
  9. Ireland (0.51)
  10. Poland (0.50)
There is no reason the US shouldn't be near the top of that list.

Maybe. The Asian countries rely on cheating. Yes. Even Japan. The woman I'm legally married to, went to high school in Japan. Cheating is how they got by.

The US sucks because we got a lot stupid people in this country

Corn is subsidized by the government. Hard to find a food on the shelves without some corn product. Sugar companies paid big money to lobby for USDA food guidelines to conveniently leave off the daily recommendations for intake. The fat free product boom of the 80s-90s took out the fat and the sugar was dumped in. The food industry lobbies hard to protect their products.

All of these foods make us sick and then we have to rely on the free health care from the same people that made us sick in the first place.

Education- Why do we have shitty parents? Part of the plan. Destroy the family and turn the kids over to state control for indoctrination.

I voted to stop the Clinton Crime family.

Hillary camp scrambling to find out who leaked embarrassing info

The knives are out in Hillary Clinton’s camp about who leaked embarrassing information to the authors of a bombshell new book about her “doomed presidential campaign.”

There is a witch hunt underway among Clinton’s presidential campaign staffers after the release of the autopsy book, “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign” by journalists Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.

We’re told the details in the book, which depicts the campaign as inept, “could only have come from someone in the inner circle.” Dennis Cheng, the finance director of Clinton’s presidential campaign, has been sending out messages to determine where the leaks come from.

One source said, “The knives are out to find the people who spoke about the campaign to the authors of this book. Dennis has been texting prominent campaign staffers, asking who talked. He’s on a witch hunt to find out who talked to save their own skin, throwing Hillary and her campaign manager Robby Mook under the bus."

You ever entertain the idea that we were purposely and systematically dumbed down for a reason? Ever listen to a Kennedy speech as compared to any moderen-day POTUS? Ever notice the high level of diction and vocab used by JFK when addressing the US people as opposed to the others? 25 years ago, we were #1 in primary and secondary educators in the world.

WTF, exactly, do you suppose happened to our education system? Are millennials really that ****ing stupid?

EDIT: just found a link claiming that just 20 years ago, we led the world in post-secondary education, as well.

I find this topic fascinating. WE all bitch about American education standards tanking, yet, none of us are able to finger the exact reason why.

If you die, you die. If you kill your self with Dew and Donuts, that's what happens. Our stupid govt doesn't owe us healthcare. They can't save you. Fn Jesus or Muhammad doesn't even owe you healthcare. Govt allows us to have Dew and Donuts, they allow us to have tons of hospitals, jobs that help pay for stuff, etc. The choice is ours. Now gtfo my Dew and Donuts.

The healthcare stuff is hr single dumbest shit I've ever heard. Just makes zero sense from whatever angle you look at it. But, we're here now. It's somehow expected. Still have no clue how that happened.

About like allowing federal govt in education...

lmao idk. It's coming eventually. Didn't NY do free college for everybody?

What's crazy about this whole thing. The prior administration created ISIS. Fully funded and trained them (Tulsi gabbard reported this-She's a democrat) and they are using ISIS has a victim in all this. So now you got a bunch of college kids who are running around trying to protect ISIS. Which is insane.

Congrats on the offer! Woo hoo! Hate to see ya take a break from the board. Appreciate the hospitality to the UK brethern

lol dems new message is" republicans don't give a shit" ha

I've followed Tulsi -- she's a great example of a Democrat - who's probably "liberal" in some of her politics -- but also intellectually honest enough to call out the previous admin (as she'll do with this one, no doubt) for insane foreign policies and hypocrisy

I don't recall seeing where she specifically stated that we created ISIS -- but I've not read everything she's espoused etc -- so .... I could see her making that type of claim
[[[[[She's also incredibly hot]]]]]

Ultimately - I don't think I need to fill in the blanks on what type of government/people/system WE ARE for building ISIS up like the world's worst boogey-man....helping to televise and market their atrocities ..... and then ..... quite probably being at least ONE OF the authors of their foundation.....

not only is it sick / reprehensible and worthy of merciless retaliation -- but it's also TIRED, and TRANSPARENT.......creating a proxy-power to do your dirty work for you in a region where you have vested / moneyed interests is something the old British Empire used to do (ref: Lawrence of Arabia and his bedouin raiders --- ref: the "alternate emperors" who claimed the Chinese throne and took to the field to make war during "The Opium Wars" of the 19th Century --- on and on and on......

others probably did it before them -- but my sense is that the British are behind more of this than most realize......the mighty USA, in the end, will probably prove to be little more than a puppet of the London establishment ((and others>)) --- at least at this point in our historical descent.

time to go back to work on the book now that employment seems to be shored up....I've been talking to publishing rep's with the goal of circulating the MS by the end of the year

if the book project goes down as planned -- I'll advertise it here and make sure UK fans get a combination 'free copies and/or highly discounted copies'

lots of work to do before then though......

No doubt, I like her too. She didn't say they created ISIS. Wikileaks did. But she did go over there and found out they were arming and funding them. She literally created a bill called "Stop Arming Terrorists Act" hahaha

This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities.

We was warned years ago about the military becoming an industry for profit.
