The people I describe have not committed a crime. Genius. Both being here illegally & not have committed a crime can both be true. I favor making them legal vs. deporting. Surely they are at the bottom of the list to be deported & I think there will be a huge uprising when they are. I expect no more than 2M of 11M+ illegals to be deported by Trump, probably less than 1M.

I just think, a) it's largely group think vs. individualism, and b) while I agree with a lot of those folks on a lot of positions, I don't agree with all of it & make that clear when I do. Yesterday I got a statement about our social security COL raise. After the Medicare increase, and 45.00 monthly increase on my BCBS supplement, I am proud to say that 8.75 dollars a week goes into my pocket for COL.. New nothing here I come!

I was reminding my wife the other day about the increase last year and how my taxes went up around here, water, trash,
and electric bills went up about the same time. So did my Medicare. You get a very small raise but someone or company finds a way to take most of it. Did not congress still get a 13% raise after not getting the 40% they tried to sneak in citing the cost of being a politician, I think.

Crossing over the US border and then claiming ASYLUM is a legal activity.
Most that claim ASYLUM are assigned a judge and a case #. They are then released into America and asked to report back to court on a given date... Usually months due to backlogs.
Once in, some never report back and some do.
That is why it is BS taking kids from their moms at the border. Many are there making legal ASYLUM claims and are breaking no laws by doing so.
Don't like the ASYLUM Law.... Tell your representative to change the law.

Looks like that application was denied. I’m sure the visa is abused (and that should be curtailed) but Republicans have long been in favor of a merit-based immigration system rather than the family based system we have now. The H1b is the best example of a merit based visa - intended to bring well educated people here who are needed in the workforce (and who do not displace American workers). I’m seeing some on X argue against any immigration altogether and that is dumb as hell.

We can't just send all our industry overseas then import people to do our work. Nations can't survive like that.



It is even pushing out Americans from teaching positions at universities. Foreign governments pay money to accept their students... we educate them... we train them... and then many return home while our country loses twice on that.
