they used to send newbies out there to "calibrate" it by just giving them some inane task like stopping at each segment upright and tapping it with a crescent wrench, but it was important to alternate between even and odd number of taps at each standard. Poor bastards would be out there for hours.
Yeah, get me a left-handed monkey wrench, or box of grid squares, or a TR double E-10, or a bucket of quadrant bubbles. Those were some of the ones we used. After being got on the left-handed monkey wrench as a private, I was alert for the next one when my chief told me to find him a TR double E-10. I went to the tree line not far from our motor pool and found the 10th tree in and sat down until they came and found me. When my chief got there and started yelling at me for "Goldbricking" I told him I found the 10th tree but could not get it out of the ground, so I was waiting for help. He then laughed and said, Ok private you win this one.

Was she in the HS band? If so, she can get moved to the Drum and Bugle Flight (commonly referred to, by everyone else as the "Beat and Blow) for basic, and let me tell you, it is absolute cake. We didn't have to do ANYTHING, other than play parades and practice. I remember doing some jumping jacks a couple of times, and we got to hold a rifle this one time, which was cool.

Even if she wasn't in the band, tell her to raise her hand anyway when they ask, because once we started practicing, it became obvious that at least half of those f***ers LIED. You could tell a lot of them had never even HELD an instrument before (but nobody seemed to care, they just told those folks to ACT like they were playing, and leave the actual playing to the rest of us)
No, home schooled for the last 3 years.

I lived in Neubrücke BEQ, 1993-1996 after transfer from Garlstedt to Baumholder. Close friend, Army NCO, lived with his wife and 3 kids in leased housing at Birkenfeld. Their neighbor was active USAF enlisted. Neighbor received hardship pay in addition to COLA and all the other extra pay we got back then. I just shook my GD head.

Powerfully bullshit. What about the kids with brain cancer? God put them in the right bodies too?

Can you imagine, if Trump loses the election because of ONE Republican lawmaker in Nebraska?

That guy (Mike McDonnell) is proper fvcked. 😆

The Republicans will FLOOD into Omaha, and you can imagine what will happen THEN.*

*(trash will get picked up, that senior center will finally get a much needed new coat of paint, a brand new gazebo stage will be built in the main city park so that Saturday evening concerts can be held, and 200,000 dollars will be raised to get the new homeless shelter off to a good start.)
So what's your position on the GOP trying to change NE's electoral process? Republicans say all the time they're for federalism and local determination, but here they are working directly against those ideals just to win elections.

I guess Nebraska can do whatever the hell they want, just like Pennsylvania in 2020. What I think doesn't even matter. They're all going to cheat anyway. I've repeatedly said that I'm for Trump because they are NOT. And that's good enough for me. I hate our Federal Government. I think it's a vile cancer, top to bottom/side to side.

Wow. I'm sure that will be a punchy, hard-hitting interview. Personally, I'd like to find out more about Kamala.

What type of neighborhood did she grow up in?

What was her first job?

What was the condition of her neighbor's lawn?
But the burning question that all of America wants an answer to....including me....

What type fertilizer do they use? What rate of usage? What is the regimental mowing/watering program?

If I get an answer from Harris on that then she has my vote.

? So why wouldn't you want people getting more accurate representation then? If you support federalism why are you for generalizing and diluting peoples' votes?

They're liberals, they don't have a clue. Seriously. If a liberal starts a project that requires real thought...he/she/it/whatever is toast.

"Let me start with this. Our lawn didn't always have pre-emergent weed control, so I know the challenges that American's face. But that is what is great about people. We can strive for more grass and less invasive clover etc."

"Donald Trump is a fundamental threat to #32 fescue"

The leader of Iran is on US soil as we speak…..as his regime is trying to take out Trump. Instead of personally meeting him to tell him that Iran won’t exist if they kill Trump, he’s on The View saying Trump is a threat to Democracy, has no redeeming qualities, etc. You can’t make this stuff up. Trump is a threat to the evil ways of a the Machine and they want MAGA stopped at all costs. They are making it clear that after Trump is gone, one way or another, nobody will ever challenge the machine. Sick, despicable people.

We are truly living in a surrealistic parody of life and society now. That is how high the level of absurdity has risen.

Even David Lynch was heard to say, "I don't understand any of this."

I don't remember expressing an opinion about it. IIRC I was just commenting on how difficult life in Nebraska could get for that guy if Trump loses because of that 1 EC vote. You're trying to insert me into a discussion that YOU want to have, but it's not one that I have any interest in.

Now go vote for Trump. It'll just be way better all around if he wins. Deep down I'm sure you know that.

With the way the DOJ/FBI labeled Christian parents upset at school board meetings, imprisoned grandmothers who peacefully protested outside abortion clinics, top DOJ official leaving job to be an assistant to the DA going after Trump in New York.. so many of them are actually saying the quiet part out loud now, not only does the left see it as the FBI/DOJ's job to go after it's political enemies...it has been happening for years:

I knew this was coming.

"Honestly, if the radical left wants to pursue this, I’m all for it. Imagine the reaction if some leftist prosecutor tried to indict Trump for giving a woman $100 to help her pay for groceries.

Try it, liberals. I dare you."

Trump giving his own money is a crime. Libs giving our money to buy votes is fine.

The problem is that the vast majority of Americans are not that responsible and there were a lot of Americans living on cat food in old age before SS.
What about Medicare and Medicaid?? Would you opt out of that as well? Do you have any idea what the cost of private insurance outside of employer provided insurance is? What about if you are injured or severely disabled? You ok living on the streets with no government assistance?
I think most people like SS and Medicare.
I think you probably do too.
I also think our Capitalist system with Socialist safety nets works pretty well for the majority of Americans.

Ramen noodles and rice are cheaper than cat food, you Village Idiot Buffoon.

Just illustrating that on this, once again, just like always, y’all’s principles go right out the window in the name of power. You personally may or may not have thrown out your endorsement like several others did, but by not condemning the efforts you lend them your tacit approval, even if not necessarily explicit.

I watched this happen in real time in the Carter administration. Before Carter I knew of very few women (married) that worked. During and after Carter, during and after record inflations and interest rates.....I knew many who went into (had to) the workforce.

Hard to believe he's in his mid 80s.

I watched many a game here. To me...an iconic, old time college football stadium.

Were the end zone bleachers saved and repurposed at commonwealth?

Also, how does that little caretaker house on Rose St survive(lower left) I mean, it’s still there today. Who’s buried under the basement slab?

When I was attending DLI, I met and married my first wife. Once we were married, I found an apartment, packed my stuff up, and moved off base. After a couple of weeks, I went in to see the 1st SGT about getting housing allowance and such, since I'd moved.

He said (and I'm paraphrasing here) "What in the F*** are talking about. You are assigned to room 137, right here on the Presidio.

I said, "I WAS, but I got married a couple of weeks ago, and moved off base, into an apartment up in Pacific Grove. So I'm going to need that stipend. I apologize for not letting you know at the time, and not giving you the key to my room back until now."

Not a word was spoken for about 5 minutes. LOL

He paraded me around to all of the senior officers and NCO's in the unit, and had me repeat all of that. They were extremely rude to me.

"Dumbest MF'er that had ever been born." was the consensus.

Who knew that you couldn't just decide to pack up and move off base, on your own initiative if you're in the service. 😄 😄 😄

Secret Service 2024 update:

--Aware of Crooks for half an hour before he almost killed Trump and did kill/injure others...never tried to get Trump off stage. Also, sloped roof.
--Second assassination attempt
--One agent shot themselves.
--Agent robbed in California
--Now agent allegedly assaulted a Harris staffer.

What will they do next?

One source in the Secret Service community said the accused agent was so inebriated that he was kicked out of his hotel room by co-workers and passed out in the hallway, where photos were taken of him.
