Well it’s my understanding that the federal elections violations should not even be considered for this trial. But somehow Bragg and the judge have wrangled that into the equation. They’re going to throw him in jail come hell or high water. The judge has been paid handsomely for that.
He is being told to convict even though he knows it will be overturned on appeal. They want the talking point, to call Trump a convicted felon. Totally a show trial. Its how they do things in the old soviet union.

I think if I was Scottie I would not have agreed to that...and sued that cop.
That would have opened the door for the Cop to find a reason to sue Scottie. Scottie doesn't need the money nor the distraction that suing the cop would bring. On the other hand, Scottie has a fistfull of cash for a vengeful cop who isn't anywhere near Scotties tax bracket. Whether the Cop had any grounds or not he could pursue something that Scottie would want to just settle out of court to get out of the way. So I think that agreement would be wise for Scottie to agree to.

Claiming Merchan is being paid off by the Biden administration is as dumb as those on MSNBC who claim that Judge Cannon is "in the bag" for Trump. Or that J. Thomas is paid to rule a certain way.

Judge isn't giving jurors a copy of the instructions, LOL. He's basically telling them that "he's guilty, hurry up."
I legitimately want someone with legal experience to tell us how many rules this judge is breaking. How much authority does ANY judge have to set these kinds of parameters within a court. How many of Trump's Civil and Constitutional rights is he violating? Would any other Judge be able to get away with this if it were any ordinary citizen?

The judge should be charged criminally since his daugther has raised over 100 Million for Democrat candidates. He's using this case to enrich his family as plenty of money from her efforts ends up in their pockets.

Can a lawyer in this thread explain how this is possible? Has this ever been done before? A judge can just make up rules as he/she sees fit? Genuinely curious.
Trump is charged with one crime (falsification of records). The penalty for that crime can be elevated to a felony if he committed it while committing or concealing another crime (the "object crime"). The state has thrown out 3 object crimes (federal election violation, state election conspiracy law, and state tax law). The jury has to be unanimous in its verdict on falsification of records. The judge is saying that it doesn't have to be unanimous on which of the object crimes were involved. Whether that is legally correct, I don't know because it is a complicated issue.

Trump just now. 'De Niro's a broken down old fool out there."

I think it’s closer to people claiming Joe Biden was bought by corrupt Ukrainians because they were paying his son millions of dollars and Biden conveniently acted like he worked for the corrupt Ukrainians.

Most I've known of the case. Assuming you're correct, thanks. I take if the object cases don't have to be unanimous, 7-5 is enough?

I'm curious too because I don't think it would go that way in neither ky state court nor federal court. Iirc there must be a unanimous verdict on the underlying crime and any enhancement. The enhancement is typically a separate count, except in federal court it might be left up to the judge at sentencing.

Never heard of a situation where you can mix and match them take the sum to fill the enhancement requirement.

Get out of Democrat cities!

Will one of our resident Libs, Please Please please explain to us how any of this would be beneficial and deter crime? If there is no punishment for lawlessness, what's to prevent a free for all? You know why "crime stats" are "down"? It's because of BS legislation like this nonsense. What recourse do law-abiding citizens have when their homes and businesses are looted because of this BS? I hope Insurance companies start refusing to offer policies in these cities. You think they want to keep paying out claims on damage as a result of this kind of crap?

Somebody please make sense of it all.

His daughter is taking in millions from democratic lawmakers as a “media influencer/coordinator”. The fact he is presiding over this case is absurd.

Sounds like the Boston mayor is basically saying you are free to do everything but rape or murder.

There will be an exodus out of the cities by a lot of people, problem is the criminals will follow into once safe communities, We already see it happening in California.

These Stalinists have pushed every chip into the center of the table, beginning with the Russia hoax and extending to the 2020 election fraud: they are betting that Americans are either too stupid or too apathetic to care what they do.

Trump will win on appeal. Even if it has to go all the way to the Supreme Court.

The whole point of this rigged trial was to get him off the campaign trail and to be able to say he is a 'convicted felon'
The question is how quickly can this be appealed and overturned? Especially if this corrupt judge forces him into Jail with no bond.

You may be right. I'm not a criminal lawyer although I was a public defender many years ago. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me and would seem to be a good issue on appeal.

If you learned that the judge in a case you were working had relatives getting millions from people who wanted a guilty verdict against your client…..

that wouldn’t trouble you?

I wondered if he would arrive at that obvious point on his own.
It’s dumb, all of them survived for hundreds of years. Of which they were diverse the entire time. Rome had black emperors when it ruled most of the world. It didn’t collapse the next day.
