They want a two tiered America. Subsidize the rich at the expense of the poor. Taxpayer money going to private institutions. Just like the majority of the PPP loans and the bank bailouts and everything else. The private sector lobbies(pays) politicians to do what's best for them, not the people. That's how it always is. They have the money, after all. All we have are our votes.
The rich subsidize the poor. always.

Canada is now under fascist law as of tonight

Canadians now have a huge problem on their hand and they have decisions to make for their future or end they will end up like the Jewish people.
Liberals gonna liberal. 185-154 NDP carried the day. We just had a vote in this country that went almost the same way.

Be interesting to see what comes next since many provinces have already said no more mandates.

Ah. “Real communism hasn’t been tried”.

Meanwhile, every economic system that has called itself communist in the last 100 years has been paired with totalitarianism in whatever state it took over.
Real communism hasnt been tried.

Isnt thay the lamest copout?

It has been tried, multiple times. The problem is the leaders are 1) evil, 2) greedy, 3) power hungry and turn into power hungry, dictators (see castro up north) EVERY, single time..

Marxist Socialism, National Socialism or Democratic Socialism.

Pick your poison....

It's gonna be great for rich kids parents who are already in private school ....do very little for middle class kids....and will be terrible for poor kids/special education students.
How much of a voucher or tax credit does every kid in Ky get? Right now the state pays 4k per year per student for all public school students. Are they going to get that full amount?
The vouchers have a family income maximum limit.

As for your questions, find the answers yourself.

The cost per student in public school is more than private school tuition...of course it's divided up to all the tax payers.

But my issue has always been with public schools is having to go to a school just bc I live in some imaginary lines. If a public school in another county is much better I should be able to go to it. If a public school in the suburb is better than an inner city school I should be able to go out to it. It's not my fault your school sucks ass. But yall don't even want that option across the country for school choice.
As long as the students who cross districts pay the new district's portion(not the state portion) out of their own pocket or from funds from their home district.

Yeah....In Florida it started out at 69k....then it moved to 100k. Next up 125k.
Your tax dollars at work.
You think the voters making 101k will be happy about missing out on that "free" money? They pay taxes too....where's their money? It won't end.
It's just another big government program with nothing but rising costs and more bureaucracratic government oversite needed to feed the tax dollar monster. Gotta raise it whenever tuition goes up.
Just you watch.

The biggest CA fire was started by some dipshits doing a gender reveal. The oregon fire was started by downed powerlines. The washington fire was started by lightning. The dipshits getting arrested for running around playing with matches are trumpsters trying to get their 15 minutes of fame. It's funny you don't ever hear Trump talk about utah, idaho, montana, arizona, wyoming, texas, the Dakota's. All states that are also currently on fire. They must do enough forest raking to keep him happy.

This is the type of stuff that Gates and others of his kind are trying to push in. Areas who lack funding look for grants to help with costs. Grants come from these orgs and to get the grant money, teachers get placed into pilot programs where they pull funding if certain o he gives aren’t met. It is exactly when we do not need a National Department of Education.

As someone who’s career has been in the Ed field and wife is a teacher, we absolutely need school choice. If you’re willing to drive your child to another school or another district in your state then they should be able to go there.

Exactly. The Uber wealthy see everything as a way to make profit. They are licking their chops at investors and their buddies opening private/for profit schools funded by public tax dollars. No accountability...no real risk....just public tax dollars flowing into their pockets.
It's a big government Ponzi scheme disguised as free money for private schools.
I used to think Charter schools were a money grab until I started working out of the state. Was working with a group or math teachers in North Carolina at a public school in the Winston-Salem area. These teachers were telling me about how they had ribs broken during school riots, how kids were in and out due to legal issues and you never knew who was in your class or how many there would be, how several students had ankle bracelets monitoring where they were, and how gang members would dress in school uniforms and harass the siblings of rival gang members in classes and hallways. I asked one them how in the world they ever made it through high school living in the area. Only 2 teachers were locals and they said “We didn’t, we went to charter schools. They don’t put up with this”. That was all I needed to know to change my mind. My kids would not be in that environment. And with the way state regulations, fear of being sued, and terrible parenting is going it will be coming sooner than later. My kids will be home or private schooled and my wife will work at a private school if it gets that way.

Inalienable rights, endowed by our creator, NOT by the government. That is the difference between our democracy and myriad others, such as Canada. If the government grants these rights, then it sure as hell can take them away. Not so here; not without a war on their hands.
