Idk what the other thread was like but at some point I think what our staff is doing has to be questioned. I honestly want to see a winner put together this season. There is something not right with Mitch Barnhart. There’s a reason pope is the coach and players are turning us down. I mean we were a powerhouse program that would go after a handful of guys and land what we need to contend. Now we go after every guy in the portal and whiff publicly. When that happens it becomes a domino effect. One or two public turn downs is one thing. We have gone after 25-30 guys. I really do not like the “new and improved program “ under pope.

Looking at the last group at face value, it won't take much to be that level. Butler is the only one that is a true loss. Brea can shoot but it's once every 3 games because he can't get loose. Amari was the most uncoordinated center I can remember trying to make an offensive move. Going by his numbers if we ever get someone that knows how to rebound they will avg 14 a game.
Robinson was good, he kind of bothered me how meek and soft he was. He had some really great moments on the year though.
Butler and Robinson we will miss but they are definitely replaceable. I think Lewis is the gem next season that oweh was this year. The kid is too talented to keep off the floor

If we go into the season with Garrison and Moreno as our only 5’s……….we’re going to WISH we had that uncoordinated center back .

I’m not sure it was all that good. It was top 25 good and Pope coached it extremely well. This lineup, year after year, won’t get it done. Why didn’t it this year? You’re going to say injuries, and I can agree. But I’ll also say lack of depth cost it too.

This dude is supposed to be one of the ones who is basically can’t miss at this point. Regardless we should not let anyone out bid us for him as he is a priority by all accounts. If we wanna compete in this climate we have to win some big recruitments eventually right?

The old program could out recruit anyone but could not coach. Best recruiter since UCLA's Wooden.
Our current program can coach but the recruiting piece is very very questionable.

Your true colors are showing ... if your auburn team loses tomorrow will you say that pearl's lineup was top 25 good but with their lineup year after year it won't get it done. You're going to say we were good enough for Final Four, but no more? I mean it is impossible to understand your gibberish nonsense.

Either Coach Pope is NOT going to pay an incoming player MORE than Oweh, Garrison and Chandler OR Mitch is handstringing him until this April 7 congressional hearing is ironed out.

If this is Mitch, then he should RESIGN!!!! These other schools are paying players what it takes to get them, but our ENTIRE staff meets them on Zoom, flies to their FREAKIN houses or meets their agents, but CAN'T close the deal????!!!!!!

I agree, all year we heard about how much money we had and even after the season first portal day the word was we had as much as anyone to spend.

Goodness. I can just call it like I see it. You thought that was a final 4 roster? I’m a fan, but I can take off my blue goggles while also removing my lips from Popes backside. The roster he put together was good given the circumstances. Two more like that one and my guess is his fourth yr will be his last. I hope like hell he lands the big fish. I honestly think his coaching with elite talent would be epic.

From whom did you hear that? Because I've never heard that, and if I DID, I wouldn't believe it. At BEST, we're the third poorest athletic program in the SEC. And that isn't going to change. So if it really DOES end up all coming down to money (which I don't believe) then a lot of you are going to either have to live in a constantly miserable state, or you know, learn to cope.

That’s what it’s going to be more than likely. They’ll add two 4’s and a couple guards. Garrison will improve and Moreno is being severely slept on.

I’ll never buy the idea we don’t have the money. I’ll never buy the idea that coach wont offer what Yaxel wants. It almost has to be that Yaxel if he does come back would prefer somewhere other than UK or coach has been asked to wait until after the 7th. I just can’t come up with anything else, there is no way coach doesn’t know how impactful Yaxel would be this year.

Didnt see that yet. Now I do. Surprising as I don't get the decision. They aren't a true contender and he likely goes rd 1 in draft..... .maybe they threw a bank at him but don't get it.

We hear what the coaching staff WANTS us to hear. I'm sure there are things going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. The coaching staff is NOT going to show us their complete hand just because we want to know. Yes, we have missed on a few, but do any of you know what else is going on? NO ONE but the staff knows their TOTAL plan of attack. They would be stupid to be an open book. I am trying not to criticize the recruiting process, because I am just one insignificant fan out here in BBN. Until given other information, I will continue to trust Coach Pope's actions. I mean look at last season and what he accomplished with what he had to work with and the time constraints. Please try to hold off on your judgements until all is said and done.
