Ask all the left nuthuggers in the thread why they don't care about Tuberculosis the way they do about CV19. It's the world leader among infectious disease deaths and infects nearly 25% of the entire world pop and claims 1.5 MILLION lives every year with extreme regularity. Actual data, not contrived CV19 numbers that constantly change to fit narrative. However, b/c your random blue cork soaker follows the agenda they are told to follow from the MSM, they don't know or care about actual health- they play for a team that is losing and has been losing for years. Florida has 22 million residents and millions visiting during the year. Florida is doing good. Florida has an open economy and jobs are plentiful. You focus all of your attention on a state where thousands are moving to to escape where you live.

I live in Maryland. Just for the record, several days ago, I said that many leaders were making poor decisions. I mentioned Biden at the border and I mentioned DeSantis in Florida. Those are the two most polarizing leaders arguably. Someone asked me how DeSantis is messing up. I brought up what looks like overreach to me. That being his executive order preventing local governments and schools from making their own decisions on implementing mask mandates per cdc guidelines.
To review:
The border is horrendous in every way imaginable. Migrants with Covid are being allowed in.
DeSantis signed an EO that if any school districts implement mask mandates, they may lose funding. Although cdc guidelines recommend masking in schools. Florida Covid numbers including hospitalizations are up.
Aside from my OPINION that the DeSantis move is an irresponsible miscalculation that will harm him, putting that aside, what part is false?

Actually, I learned a lot about the border crisis right here on this board after initially not knowing too much about it. I found the information informative. There is no denying that situation is a complete cluster. I also initially stated I didn’t see how the border would affect me too much because yes, I can be selfish at times but that remains to be seen. None of it is good for Covid and I think Biden is a hypocrite for calling out DeSantis while that is going on. Lastly, I’m not sure concern is the right word. I’m not coming from a place of concern. I’m simply stating that most leaders and even us are hypocrites. We claim to be against something but later be for it if it suits our needs or wants.
Governor DeSantis allows the parents to decide if they want their child wearing a mask. Not some school board with an agenda. Masks are not prohibited so what is the problem?
This morning we had a hospital administrator being interviewed on the radio and he was throwing out all of this "data". When the interviewer asked him where the data came from he admitted he saw in on CNN. The radio host said "I just lost 98% of my listeners". You don't go to CNN or even Newsmax to get scientific medical data.
Governor DeSantis obtains his information from sound data not agenda driven data. He does not make decisions based on politics. Politics would advise him to go along with the flow. But he knows many parents including me do not want children in masks. If you want your child in a mask, I do not have a problem with it. But a mask mandate is not acceptable in our state. It probably is in Maryland but Florida is a very different state than Maryland.
All we ask down here is to respect our right to continue living our life with no restrictions. If DeSantis gets it wrong the voters will decide his fate. During the year of COVID Florida managed to have a surplus in excess of a billion dollars. Most states went billions in the Red. Including all of the blue states. So Florida was able to give bonuses to teachers and law enforcement officers. Small business owners in Florida are thankful they were allowed to remain open while America shut down. If we had a liberal governor we would have been like New York and California. Florida is Free and we will keep it Free. The rest of the nation can work out how they want to live.

Since when is it the government’s role to tell me what’s in my own safety or my own best interest. I think I should be the judge of that. And with all that’s coming out, you really think the Vax is the best option? You’re on board with vaccine passports and forced vaccinations even though these vaccines haven’t been tested or FDA approved and no one knows the long term side effects? You’re really on board with all of that instead of letting people make their own decisions?
I do disagree with Statewide mask mandates. I think we are at a point now where you don’t need to do that. Let the locals in discomfit communities make those decisions. I’m the beginning, there was much unknown and so I think it was understandable for leaders to jump the gun or do “too much” but now I think we can get back to some normalcy in terms of how those decisions are made.
I don’t know that the science says that to be honest. I said this before and some here agreed but I am under the impression that if you have people in a room, it’s better if everyone is masked. To what extent that helps, that I don’t know. But I don’t believe it’s accurate to say they don’t do anything. Also, the cdc is recommending it. I get that some don’t believe in the cdc but I believe that’s up to local government to determine if that is a credible resource.

In fact the way the body positivity movement has spread, it’s like a virus. And look around... it’s spread a lot. And to tie a nice bow on all of this, covid is more fatal in cases involving obese individuals... but you won’t hear a single media personality or “health expert” tell anyone to try and lose some weight. The government, their selected experts, or the media do not care about any of us.

Whether he has the power or not is irrelevant. It’s about when and how the governor chooses to exercise that power. In this particular instance, I don’t think it was right. That’s all. And it remains to be seen if it actually wasn’t unconstitutional in the State of Florida but that’s for the courts to decide. I’m not sure anyone would have an issue with a Governor using his power to free a man who was unjustly jailed. Also, it is simply my logic, when others, such as the conservative Senator agrees?

Now for facts. The facts are thousands of illegals are being allowed to cross our border, many with COVID. Look at your state of Maryland. Black people are shooting each other in the Streets of Baltimore. Baltimore schools graduate the least educated students in America. I disagree. I do not believe I have criticized the mothers and fathers of Florida. I simply expounded on my opinion about DeSantis decisions surrounding Covid as I was no asked to do. And how I think it will impact him negatively as far as politics. Larry Hogan, the Governor of Maryland is a conservative. I am actually happy with the job he has done. Not sure what you want me to say about Baltimore. Not sure it’s relevant here.
