I’ll ask again. Can you point to any science that backs up that kids need to wear masks? Can you point to any science that shows that kids are at high risk? Can you point to any science that shows mask mandates that include non medical cotton masks work?
Now when it comes to overreach by DeSantis. I don’t consider it an overreach because when a politician ensures individual liberty, I don’t consider that governmental overreach.
Again if there is someone who wants to wear a mask, they still can. If they want their kid to go to school wearing a mask, their kid still can. Its not like individuals are no longer allowed to wear masks in Florida.
Again I’m 100% cool with a Governor making an executive order that puts an individual liberties first. And that’s exactly what DeSantis did. The more individual liberty and responsibility, the better.
That’s not going to happen.

I disagree. The decisions on safety and security of schools and or local governments should be up to those specific entities.
If the CDC says no masks are needed last month for vaccinated people and then it changes a month later, schools and local governments should have the power to implement what they deem necessary to keep the people THEY are responsible for safe.
it is clearly overreach and there are some questions already if it is even legal. But let’s watch and see how it plays out. This will all be answered in my opinion. Let’s monitor this situation and revisit. If I am wrong, I will be the first one right here but even if his order does hold up, he’s not going to withhold funding for those who violate it. It’s an empty threat with no intention other than to look good for those it is meant for him to look good for.

I just finished speaking to a family member who does medical coding. Said they did three tickets today where patients had died with Covid. 2 were unvaccinated, a 75 yr old and a 67 yr old. 1 was vaccinated 84 yr old. Said the hospitalization tickets lately are close to 50/50 vaxxed/unvaxxed. Imagine that.

I’m still failing to see how leaving it up to parents/individuals to decide is such a bad thing. And I work within a school... elementary aged kids don’t keep their masks on because they’re elementary aged kids. It’s insanity to expect this from kids that are 3-7 years old.

Just so I got this straight. You started this whole thing off by saying DeSantis was F*ing things up because he’s not for masks mandates. Yet you admit to having no clue at all if masks even do anything.
When it comes to schools. Again all science says kids aren’t at risk. That’s what the science says. So why should kids be forced to wear masks (you yourself says you have no clue if they even do anything), for something they aren’t at risk of?
When it comes to everywhere else. Adults can be adults and weigh their own risks. If they’re afraid of the virus, they can get the vaccine. If they feel like the vaccine isn’t strong enough, they can wear a mask.
Again all DeSantis did was ensure ensure individual liberty and responsibility. So I ask again, how is he F*ing things up? Right now it seems like you read a couple headlines on how evil DeSantis is and that’s it. Didn’t take the time to look into the situation and come up with your own opinion.

And my final point again. If you live in Florida and want you get a vaccine and wear a mask, no one is stopping you. No one is stopping you from sending your kid to school in a mask. All DeSantis did was give the individuals that choice. Again the horror!!!
