It really would not matter imo. They are going to fight everyone who does not agree with them even if we helped them at every turn.

I read some scripture that suggested life doesn't begin until a baby takes it's first breath. Most abortions take place a long time before that so maybe it's not really murder.... Hope not!
With full hindsight (and probably a little foresight) doing nothing was probably our best play.
We're never going to fully eliminate the threat of terrorism. And spending upwards of $3 trillion to rebuild backwards nations, one of which had zero to do with the events of 9/11/01, certainly didn't do a thing to diminish threats to the US. The worlds most expensive whack-a-mole game.
We should have sent in a few teams to eliminate the leaders of Al Queda, no one in the Afghani region would have stopped us, puppet government of the US in place or not. And that's it. Yes, the leadership of Afghanistan and Iraq prior to the operations was pure evil............as are multiple nations' leaders that we ignore.

If the Republicans were smart (which they decidedly are not) then they would run a ticket of Rubio and Kasich. That's Florida and Ohio vs Hillary and that's about as good a shot as they are going to get. I thought Rubio easily won the "debate" but it really wasn't a debate at all. More like surrounding some middling political candidates with some certifiably insane people to make them look better.
What is interesting to me is how much the Republican establishments wants Walker to be the nominee but they laughably are trying to hide it. Like prodding him along hoping he will catch on. Not going to happen. Walker reminds me of a Happy Meal Toy for some reason. Just nothing there. All plastic and molded. Like they poured him into a candidate then unsealed him for the campaign. Candidate X. He looks like a Stepford Wife.
Jeb is so bland and uninspiring. He should be in the funerary business as he has the disposition for it. Also nobody will ever be elected president that has nose holes you can see that far up into in the television age. He looks constipated like he's going to burp and his eyebrows are constantly raised like he's surprised everyone around him will entertain the idea that another Bush is trying to get elected president.
Christie and Huckabee looked like somebody farted on them. Scowling and surly. Just what everybody wants in a dangerous world... a mentally unstable hothead for a president that gets mad and wants to fight if you ask them a question.
Carson was such an out-of-place token that I actually laughed out loud. He was a placeholder. Might as well have been on Star Trek wearing the red shirt. You know he's toast whenever it becomes convenient and his purpose as a token has been served. That was so patronizing that it added nicely to the overall absurdity of the proceeding.

By keeping them unstable we don't allow the opportunity for a quality education system to arise. An education that might lead them to a better understanding the world, other cultures, etc. Science, mathmatics, literacy, all the elements that built civilization are severely lacking in this wasteland. Kids are indoctrinated at a young age to believe in this violence, to live in accordance to this violence. Who knows what may arise in a stable Middle East. It has to be better than what the unstable Middle East has given us.
We aren't pure evil but I think others have a decent argument when you look at our history of aggression, coercion, manipulation, etc.
Practically all out forefathers were slave owners. So why don't we own slaves then?

What's your point? Denying people basic rights based on the dominant faith is exactly what the founders didn't want us to do. There isn't a national church. Christianity has hundreds of sects, so which one should we use to go by? Some aren't that bad because they don't try to tell others to live like them. Others are awful and only a few steps up from those brown people religions so many people who might vote in a GOP primary hate.
If the donald were to become president would he make it a law that anyone from Indian descent must provide papers proving they are legal? If so all subways maybe in trouble since I have yet to see a subway or a mom and pops gas station not owned my someone from Indian descent.

2 GOP threads (Trump, debate) stay up for over a week but an HRC one lasts about 30 minutes. Interesting. Should we have a contest to name the date we actually see on the Dems or faux moderates break down why they are voting for HRC or Bernie?

As with many liberal policies, I think this is just another thats pandering for votes. Right now, there are tons of people struggling financially, for one reason or the next. The left know these poor, uninformed voters are more than willing to show up and vote if you pander with increased minimum wage, handouts, etc.
Then when it fails, which everyone knew would happen, they can just blame it on the evil corporations and republicans.
Of course a minumum wage hike will result in loss of jobs. Any semi informed person could see this coming from a mile away. So pandering is the only rationale that makes any sense at all.
