Scored 19 on Gonzaga earlier in the year. 18 on Providence. Only 9 against Arizona.

This is the type of kid that, if you can find a way to have the talent and depth where a kid like this comes off the bench for you, you become SO elite. Or this kid starts and you get someone of the very near caliber who can be your first big off the bench.

Like what Florida does at the 4 spot with Haugh and Condon. If we can get 2 kids of this caliber to split the PF spot, we could be really elite in the front court.

Realistically, we need to go get 3 bigs probably.

I am assuming that BG will transfer, and I honestly think that's for the best at this point.

PF 1
PF 2

Center 1
Malachi Moreno (Center 2)

Ideally you'd also get a 3/4 swingman who can play some PF if needed (similar to a Darius Miller type, a 3 & D forward who can play the SF or PF spots).

So you'd have 5 guys total who can plug and play in the front court spots.

If this kid can fill into one of the 2 PF roles we need, it's a homerun.

Yeah. I like Garrison but he’s probably better suited for a more traditional 4 role unless he vastly improves his handles and/or shot creating/percentage

Gets to the line a ton. Almost 7 attempts per game. Not a very good shooter from 2 for a big man.
He doesn’t get many dunks and shoots a lot of long-ish 2’s. The highlights suggest he plays more like a wing than a center on offense.

I keep seeing people make this mistake. These guys who are transferring are not transferring to be bench players. Very few guys are going to be willing to accept that role.

The 3PT% is misleading because he doesn't really shoot many threes. He averages 1.3 attempts per game.

The rebounding numbers are a little concerning too considering his size vs. the competition.

You're not pitching that as his role...you're pitching that you're bringing in 2 starter-quality players who will have the opportunity to compete for a starting position. But, even if you get beat out as the starter, you're still going to play about half the game, according to match-ups, foul problems, hot hands, etc

If you're not pitching that he'll be the starter, you're losing him to a team that will.

I don't agree. I think we can absolutely go sign 3 very, very good big men from the portal.

For instance, Alabama went and signed Chris Youngblood, a kid who averaged 16 PPG and was the best player in the American Conference last year, to come in and be a 6th man off the bench.

Duke went and signed Mason Gillis, a 3 year starter at Purdue for a team that made the national title game, to come in and play a role off the bench because he wanted to win and be a part of something special in his last year.

Kansas hasn't had the year they expected, but they got AJ Storr, who was Wisconsin's best player and an All-Big 10 guy, and Zeke Mayo, one of the best low-major players in college basketball, to come in and agree to split minutes where one knew they'd come off the bench.

Shoot, we signed Nate Sestina who averaged 16 PPG and started every game for a really good Bucknell team to come in and be our 7th or 8th man off the bench, because the guy wanted to WIN and be a part of BBN.

I don't understand someone saying there aren't guys out there willing to sacrifice a little bit to be a part of something special. It literally happens every single year. It's all about how you sell it.

We have 40 MPG to go around for the PF spot at the premier school and brand in college basketball who pay top NIL dollars, you're telling me there aren't 2 good players out there willing to sign up for that?

Why do you think Garrison will transfer? He's had a few good games. Once Williams started dominating down low couldn't really take him out. Hope he stays.

Every school you mentioned has a bigger NIL budget than we do. All of them. And most of the players you mention weren't commanding starter money on the open market. That's why they accepted the roles they did.

Please delete if this is paywall info or anything, I just saw it on Twitter.

This kid looks sharp as a stretch 4, Andrew Carr/Ansley Almonor type role.

6'10, 18 PPG, 6 RPG, 41.5% 3FG shooter.

As long as we are getting guys with more than 1 year left I am thrilled. This was a one year experiment but definitely want more Oweh like transfers and less of the rest moving forward.
