No DJ in the second half??

Not hardly any run for Dilly as well .. but a huge dose of Adou and Bradshaw

I’m not wondering why a hobbled DJ didn’t play in the 2nd half. We have a top 10 pick and one of the most electric players in the country rotting on the bench the entire 2nd half. I’m pretty sure Burks played more than Dillingham in the 2nd half

Z may not be better on D but you have to try SOMEONE else after Bradshaw just kept getting abused play after play after play

The bigs is what makes no sense. Ever sense we went to our 7 footers we have regressed because they don’t add offense and get pushed around on defense. At least Burks, Thiero, Mitchell would put up a fight. Just go small again

If DJ didn't log a minute in the 2nd half.. pretty clear we don't really need him then. Our 1st half is what was dreadful. The 2nd half was much better and mostly marred by bad officiating. Gonzaga, a mid major team shot like 25 free throws on the road..

Starting to wonder if a high-school team wouldn't be able to get us into foul trouble.

You can not set dillingham most of the second half.. I'm actually glad they lost. Cal has his pet's. And he got scored on time after time.

Zone defense couldn't be this bad. If nothing else do a hard trap on the pick. Force the ball out!
But dillingham sat all but a few minutes. Mind blowing. This team is done. It's over.

DJ came in at the 8 minute mark. He didn’t really do much good or bad in that span .

That little run to start the second half completely messed up the substitute patterns which also led to Dillingham playing little

My one slight defense of the bigs.. the small ball lineup DID get to play the weaker OOC schedule.. 1 good team, 2 awful teams

The bigs came in towards the end of that nice stretch and then opened with SEC play..

Not that I think it's a full excuse. But it would be interesting to see if this were reversed: the bigs playing Penn and Stonehill.. and the small ball lineup trying to win in the SEC.

This is a great point . Offense wasn’t much a problem in the second half . 7 footers or not they would have killed us in the paint

I can buy it but what I can't buy is calling a timeout down 2 and not putting your best shooters in the game.

Even if Reed makes the pass for a lob dunk, the Zags have 5 seconds to win the game. If you give Dilly the ball and he hits the 3, the Zags are down 1 and forced to go the length of the floor to win it.

So whatever rule there is about playing for the tie at home should not apply for a team that struggles to score in OT. Another close, what might have been, winning game.

Whether best shooters or worst shooters is irrelevant when you turn it over after the timeout without any shot. The play Sheppard tried to make was just not there ... wish he had seen that and attacked the basket himself.
