Are back to (after the USC pitiful performance) this team will not make a bowl. Lose to Florida (playing better), Texas, Tennessee. We have to beat Auburn and UofL to be bowl eligible.

I'd rather lose 20-13 because we didn't have the talent to compete and got outplayed than lose 20-13 because our coaching sucks, our players are undisciplined (direct reflection of coaching), and we continually shoot ourselves in the foot with Kentucky Football type plays.

He has taken UK as far as he is capable. Just like Calipari... It's time for him to go.
Agree 100%, I believe that Stoops has taken us as far he can. We need a coach that can take us to the next level in the SEC. And 9 million a year should be enough to get us a top coach. Problem is, what coach would want to come to UK to build the program?

What is to be built? The talent is absolutely there, player development, game management, and coaching in general are the issues.

Our talent isn't nearly as good as Georgia's, alabamas, Texas, UT, lsu, etc. You have to beat most of those teams to make a playoff. Beating one doesn't do it. You have to win 10 to ensure a playoff bid.

Our coaches are the problem I agree, but again what Top Coach wants to come to KY to Build the program to compete for Championships? Just like basketball, how many top coaches wanted the basketball job?

But you have to win the ones you should to build on and show recruits what is possible.. I couldn’t imagine being a dad of a talented QB, RB, or WR and supporting my kid wanting to go to UK after watching the multitude of games Stoops coached like last night.

I voted yes after voting no earlier in the season.

My true vote is that it doesn't matter. UK will never be what some folks think it will be at football. We don't produce enough top tier talent in state and the only reason we are getting the recruits we are is because of Marrow...he will be gone with Stoops if he leaves...75% chance of that.

So, sure, change the coach but IMHO it will not matter. All that said, the home record vs SEC is out of hand and points to a problem.

Yea, our best recruiting ever is still lower third in the SEC. People need to realize how little talent we produce in state (which is huge) compared to other SEC schools.

With that said, I do think it’s time to move on and get a new coach. I love what Stoops has done but think he’s done all he can do here.

Is it time for Stoops to go?
I think in this new age of NIL, excitement in the fanbase is more important than ever. Unless you have Nick Saban or Urban Meyer, don't ever give a coach a contract you can't buy out, and enough with the 7 year extensions. A series of competent coaches who maintain excitement may be better than one competent coach whose voice, as your poll suggests, grows stale.

It's past time. The main problem that I have with Stoops is that he doesn't ever correct his mistakes.

Every year he puts an undisciplined team onto the field and then proceeds to make the exact same errors over and over. When they play disciplined, they win ala Ole Miss. Problem is that is a rarity.

Bye week bungles.

You can count on terrible clock management and the opponent scoring just before half, and Heaven help us if they have the ball coming out of halftime.

He also won't get off the OC's jock. Let the OC do his job and make the DC handle his.

EXACTLY!!!

AT UK we have to have a coach that DEMANDS discipline and attention to detail!!! This is Coach Stoops 12th FREAKIN season and we STILL don't have that on a consistent basis!!! We have the talent necessary to beat the middle and lower tier teams at this point BUT it doesn't matter if we are CONSTANTLY making STUPID mistakes against those teams causing us to lose!!!!

But the sad part about where we are right now is no matter how BAD Coach Stoops screws up, UK is BOUND to him just like we were with Cal because Mitch has given him a RIDICULOUS contract that will cost us a TON of money to get rid of him!!!! So unless he gets another job or gets tired of the criticism, we are STUCK with him for at least 4 more seasons.

SAD

We beat Ole Miszs two weeks ago , but stoops has to go. Ok
To me that only reinforces my belief that he needs to go. He obviously has the personnel to beat good teams. He lacks the coaching chops to keep them playing at a high level. For every one good game he has, he produces 3 or 4 head scratching stinkers in which we lose games we could have won. Vandy beat us because of superior coaching, not players.

I do think it is time for Stoops to move on or retire. He has done all he can at UK. The grass will be no greener with a new hire as well. We need to get used to our best is still middle of the road SEC. Our worst of course is cellar dweller.

We do not have what it takes to make it over the hump. We will probably be in one playoffs in the remainder of my lifetime no matter the coach and we will probably be a 10-12 seeded team unless they add teams and then we will be in the bottom 3 or so bids. Big programs have the players in state and can go handpick a few guys across the US to complete the team. We have to get the 4 or 5 guys in state each year and get others leftovers. Our players are 10 times better than before Stoops. Shows how bad we are.

I really do think it's time for a change here, I appreciate what he has done here. If he had of gone to Texas A%M i read where Deone Walker was going to go with him, things like that would hurt, and he may not have been the only one to go. Those things happen when coaches leave, I would like to see more loyalty from some of our players that are veterans instead of following a coach who goes to another school, but that's the way it nowadays. Someone once said Kentucky is the graveyard of many good coaches and with Oklahoma and Texas in the SEC it's going to be even harder to win and go to bowl games. Most Kentucky fans are ok with Kentucky having a winning season and going to bowl games most years. Also having 10 wins a year thrown in every 3 or 4 years is really good, but with the possibility of having 9 league games coming up and doing those things it's becoming increasingly difficult. The Vandy debacle got everybody fired up and rightly so, especially coming so soon after the South Carolina game. We weren't ready to play either game and with the staff and veteran players we have, there is no excuse for that. I think Stoops has gone about as far as he can here.

Deone Walker was going to be wherever Anwar Stewart was coaching.

Needs more context. Should he be fired ? Absolutely not. Do we wish he would retire or be hired somewhere else? I’d be on board with that .

The vote is 151-18 sounds like your in the small minority.

Stoops already has flirted leaving multiple times his heart clearly isn't at UK. It's time for a new HC whether he is fired or leaves on his own I don't really care.

Maybe I am . But only delusional people believe he may be or should be fired .

In it's simplest terms most SEC teams strive to get to the top tier to get into the playoffs and to do that you need to be elite on one side of the ball and either elite or really good like upper 1/3rd tier on the other side of the ball. Most SEC teams never become elite at one side of the ball or the other.

So the view from 30,000 feet suggests that we have gotten half way there with elite defenses that have consistency year over year but unfortunately offensive units that continue to fall short, underperform for a variety of reasons that have been discussed on here to their end.

So the question is are the chances of upgrading the offense and continuing the defense under Stoops greater or less than bringing in a new staff to do both?
