It's not so much that they lost but how they lost that is upsetting fans. They essentially beat themselves.

We lost to a 1st year HC by making all of those dumb mistakes coming off a bye week when we have the LONGEST tenured coach in the SEC.

So frustrating.

One thing I always got on Cal about was the fact that with all the talking and bull crapping I just wanted him to shut up and concentrate on making a difference himself once the clock started. Just in his game managment, substitutions, taking advantage of matchup advantages, clock managment, play calls, controlling momentum, motivating his players, making decisions . . . whatever . . .what could HE DO to make a points difference himself during a game regardless of how his players did.

That's where I am now with Stoops. I think he does a decent job preparing his teams for games but I have zero confidence in him making any positive differecne one they kickoff. It feels like he's just watching it all unfold just like we are. I think its why we've lost so many close game we should have won that would have this program on a slightly higher trajectory. So I've lost hope that he can make any further difference in us getting to a next level. The big time coaches today seem to make a big differnce in the actual outcome of games due to their in game talents and X and O expertise. We dont have that.

This has been my gripe since he has been here. Teams like UK, on the outside looking in have to play mistake free. Have a good game plan and execute it. Capitalize on opportunities. We can’t help our opponents beat us. Stoops is not a positive on the sideline, he is a net negative.

I could understand being the 9th nighest paid coach and having a mega extension but nobody else wants Stoops. If he were a hotshot newcomer that all the big boys wanted then I could understand but none of them want him. TxAM fans about had a revolt when they heard he might be the choice.
