I can respect him addressing it with his players and being transparent. Seems like he's got one foot out the door.
What I wouldn't give to live in the north (or even the New England area) again. We get 20, 25 footers here often enough. Good surfing if you don't mind ice buildup.
Didn't he say something to the media about how important it was to him to try and get a third consecutive title at UCONN?I can respect him addressing it with his players and being transparent. Seems like he's got one foot out the door.
California has the 2nd highest standard of living in the country compared to Kentucky's 47th. But sure, it's a horrible state. You have to pay someone alot of money to live in California with all that social experiments taking place out there
Cal to Arkansas
Hurley to LA…
…who else am I forgetting?
It mostly is.California has the 2nd highest standard of living in the country compared to Kentucky's 47th. But sure, it's a horrible state.

That's what the article said. Pop was next at like $16M.Wow! Were they really paying that much?
We can hope or wish but come on? Is there even the money left? Would he even want to come?Liam McNeely come on down!
Don't know. Probably not. Fun to dream though! We can hope or wish but come on? Is there even the money left? Would he even want to come?
It is a horrible state. Ridiculous taxes, moron for governor, floods and forest fires etc etc. and way too many illegal immigrants. And I forgot one, Hollywood. The place sucks.California has the 2nd highest standard of living in the country compared to Kentucky's 47th. But sure, it's a horrible state.
The cartel also has the forests in the northern part of the state locked down for weed farming. Very dangerous to go into the forests there. It is a horrible state. I agree!Don't know. Probably not. Fun to dream though!
No, if Hurley leaves and that a big if UConn is gonna hire the top assistant and keep that team togetherWe can hope or wish but come on? Is there even the money left? Would he even want to come?
Don’t forget a shit map in the 2 largest cities and $20 McDonalds hamburgers but sure let’s take some random standard of living ranking. I have eyes and I know their policies and nothing about living there is nice. You need 4 room mates and 2 jobs to afford a shitty apartment. I actually know 2 people who live there on the outskirts of LA and his rent is 3k for a 3 bedroom apartment that would cost about $700 here. He works 2 30-40 hour a week jobs that have a minimum wage of $20 and he still can barely afford to live basic necessities with 3 roommates. It is a horrible state. Ridiculous taxes, moron for governor, floods and forest fires etc etc. and way too many illegal immigrants. And I forgot one, Hollywood. The place sucks.
ThanksThat's what the article said. Pop was next at like $16M.
and they got Hurley to just play along?Aaron Torres who is a UConn guy thinks the lakers are doing this to make it look like they went after a top guy so they can soften the blow for the reddick hire.
Crap state to be sure. But that won't matter to an NBA coach making more money than most of us can dream about.Don’t forget a shit map in the 2 largest cities and $20 McDonalds hamburgers but sure let’s take some random standard of living ranking. So you don't go after one of the best coaches in college basketball? Lowered our prestige? Nah, Cal did a damn good job of that in the last 3 years. UConn is a solid job. They've won several titles under multiple coaches. Between their men's and women's programs, they're basketball U. No debating it to be honest. This is why I said it over and over to people that wanted us to make a run at Hurley. The “you have to take a shot” crowd. No, we don’t, and no, we shouldn’t have. And the only reason Barn did is to appease a part of our base that doesn’t know what they’re saying. Offering Hurley did nothing more than
1. Make UConn appear a better job when he said no
2. Get Hurley a lot more money in the process
3. Lower our prestige in the minds of recruits.
It literally was never going to do anything else. There was never a chance he was going to leave. It still pisses me off we even attempted that. Plus he’s an arrogant little douchebag and we gave it to him.
Hurley isn’t leaving UConn but for the NBA and that was never going to change. He won’t be at UConn long as he’s already made clear his ultimate goal is the NBA. I hope people learned a lesson in this because this kind of stupidity needs to be avoided in the future.
I personally don’t believe it. I hope he takes it so these UConn fans get humbledand they got Hurley to just play along?
Kinda funny how UConn can’t even make that man the highest paid coach instead of “one” of the highest paid coaches. Kentucky was willing to make him the highest paid, it’s safe to say UConn can’t afford much.
Pathetic. They gonna offer a measly 3 million a year raise? Lol, the lakers can and will blow them away.
He's gone more than likely. He's always said he has aspirations of coaching in the pros.Pathetic. They gonna offer a measly 3 million a year raise? Lol, the lakers can and will blow them away.
This is Rupp RaftersSo I’m confused
Is this thread about the possibility of Hurley going to the Lakers or an argument about California?
I lived there for 3 years. Double the “Median income” means very little when the cost of living is nearly triple or more. I also prefer not having the massive homeless issue to the extent that SF, LA, San Diego all haveNo doubt, I've heard that there's all kinds of cheap property because people are leaving and no one wants to move there. California is a much superior location to Kentucky. Let me know when Kentucky ranks higher the CA in education, job market, standard of living, median income.....
TrueThis is Rupp Rafters
You never cease to amaze to the downside. Never.Aaron Torres who is a UConn guy thinks the lakers are doing this to make it look like they went after a top guy so they can soften the blow for the reddick hire.
Lakers job is better. If Hurley takes the Lakers job, what does that say about him not wanting to take the UK job? Did Cal do that much damage? Again, this is coming from the perspective of before we hired Pope. I am excited to have Pope, he's doing all the right things. Just interesting on how UK job is perceived.
Trilly also said UConn is preparing for Hurley to go
