Those are all teams with very high offensive efficiency numbers.

Of course Offence is more important. You don't need a great defense if you can score. A average defense you need but not elite. You just can't be awful on defense.
Neither is more important. You need to be great in one and be above average in the other. Doesn’t matter which.
This isn't true. UT and Arkansas have pretty poor offensive efficiency rankings. And Bama is lower than UK. Of the listed teams, only Houston has a great offense, and even then their defense is better than their offense.
Every team listed by OP has a better defense than offense. Tennessee and Arkansas have a pretty poor offense, but very good or great defenses. Bama has a worse offense than UK but an elite defense, and Houston is pretty elite at both.
Bama still has a very good offense.
And really what matters is the separation between the two numbers (off Eff and Def eff)

Xavier has a good offence and average at best defense. They look good today. I'll take a team that can spread the floor with multiple shooters who can make shots over a poor offence elite Defensive team every time.
Numbers say the offence is good. They have had some outstanding games but many clunkers as well. Have one guy who is a good outside shooter and he isn't consistent from game to game. Also have a bad defense that has played a few really good defensive games. But a bunch of really bad ones as well.
Inconsistent overall. Both sides of the ball.
